This is the monthly WGC Steel Challenge match!
The Watauga Gun Club Steel Challenge Series is a fast‑paced, family‑friendly shooting competition designed for shooters of all experience levels. Competitors engage steel targets in standardized stage layouts that emphasize speed, accuracy, and consistency. With divisions for rimfire, centerfire, revolver, and PCC—each with iron or optic options—the series offers something for everyone. Matches run monthly from spring through fall, featuring rotating stages, fun add‑on stages, and streamlined registration and scoring through PractiScore. It’s one of the most accessible and enjoyable shooting sports in the region.
We have introduced online payment for this match. For online payment, the base match fee is $11 for a single gun and an additional 5 for the second gun. If you pay cash at the match, the base fee is $10 for a single gun and an additional $5 for a second gun if you pay at the match. There is a two gun limit. If you pay online and choose to withdraw before the match, match fees will be refunded minus Stripe fees. If there is a chance you may withdraw, please opt to pay cash at the match so you don't incur fees.
Registration Instructions:
If you’re shooting 1 gun: just register normally after selecting the pricing options as appropriate. Pay and then squad! Don't forget to hit SELECT SQUAD at the bottom of the page!
If you’re shooting 2 guns: register the first gun with the appropriate pricing options (include 'Pay for second gun', you will be paying for both guns at the same time). Pay and then squad the first gun. Click the match name in the top right of the page after squadding to return to the registration page (don't use the browser back button, that can cause some issues). Register a second time for the second gun. For the payment option, select the option, "I already paid for a second gun". This way, you only pay on the first registration, not when registering the second gun. Make sure to squad again with the second registration.
If you are staff or setup crew, please select the "Staff and Setup Crew" option, squad and if you have a second gun, follow the steps outlined in the 2 guns process above.
If you are a Junior Shooter, 13 years of age or younger, there is no fee for your participation. Please select the Junior Shooter payment option.
If you wish to pay cash at the match on match day, select "Pay Cash at Match".
Gates will be open by 9 am and there will be a shooters’ meeting at 10:00 am. The match starts immediately after the meeting.
