QSC July Steel Challenge 2026

Level I Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA) Match with 6 Classifier Stages and 2 provisional stages on Marine Corps Base Quantico's (MCBQ) Small Arms Training (SAT) range. The approximate time will be 6 hours on the day. The minimum round count for the match is 195 rounds per entry. However, be prepared to expend upwards of 300.

0930 - Registration begins
0945 - Safety briefing
1000 - Hammer down/first shots
Match Fee Per Registration: $20 cash per entry. You may register for up to two divisions in the same squad.
Common division rules/confusion summarized - check SCSA rules for specifics.
PROD - Production gun with iron sights. NO: magwells, race holsters, ports/comps, optics
CO - Striker fired or DA/SA guns starting in DA every string. Has an optic. NO: magwells, race holsters, ports/comps
LO - CO + SAO guns (1911/2011). Magwells, race holsters allowed. NO: ports/comps.
OPN - Ports/comps allowed.
As a reminder, concealed carry is not authorized aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico unless you have appropriate law enforcement credentials. However, remember that USPSA/Steel Challenge events operate on a strict, "cold range" principle.

The Visitor Control Center (VCC) is open on Saturday mornings from 0730-1130. Visit MCBQ's Base Access page for VCC info (https://www.quantico.marines.mil/Info/Base-Access/Visitor-Control-Center/)
If you are going to the visitors center they require a Real ID for access. If you do not have a real ID they require two of the following; Social Security Card, Passport, Passport Card, PIV Card, State Department License, Veterans Health ID Card, Permanent Resident Card, Certificate of naturalization. Saturday registration begins at 9am with the shooters brief occurring at 945am. If you need to go to the visitor’s center on Saturday morning, please allow yourself plenty of time. If you plan on attending the match regularly, the VCC may issue you a DBIDs ID for a year with the shooting club as the sponsor. Sometimes this option is only open to QSC club members so the easiest way to secure this is to join QSC as a member. That ID will give you access to the west side of the base on weekends from 0630-1700.
