JHGC Steel Challenge July 8 2026

Join us for an evening Steel Challenge match at Jackson Hole Gun Club, presented by Teton Area Practical Shooters.
Steel Challenge is a great way to try competitive shooting. Each stage is shot in five strings, with five steel targets per string.
The match format is expected to be four Steel Challenge courses in a safe, relaxed, and welcoming environment.
Whether you’re chasing personal bests or just getting started, we look forward to seeing you at the match!

Schedule:
5:00 PM – 5:45 PM — Setup; help is appreciated but not required
5:45 PM — Check in and mandatory safety briefing; all participants must be present
Please arrive in time for check-in and the mandatory safety briefing
Required equipment:
• Eye protection
• Ear protection
• .22LR or larger caliber pistol, .22LR rifle, or pistol-caliber carbine (PCC)
• Sufficient magazines for your firearm to complete five strings of five targets
• Ammunition: a perfect run requires a minimum of 25 rounds per stage, but we recommend bringing 150–200 rounds for the match
• Holster and magazine pouches*
*Holster and magazine pouches are not required for .22LR pistols. If you do not have a holster, come along anyway. We will accommodate you for your first match and can offer advice on equipment choices.

No cross-draw holsters or shoulder holsters are permitted.
New shooters are welcome, but all participants must be able to safely load, unload, and handle their firearm without assistance.
Participants must be at least 12 years old. Anyone under 18 must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times.
