SUMMARY:
• The ❗50 YARD❗ .22 LR benchrest match is held on the ❗1st Saturday❗ of the month. This 50 yard match will test the shooter’s equipment, ammo and ability to adjust for wind conditions.
• DPC has TWELVE shooting positions. We will run up to 4 consecutive heats (squads).
✅ Required equipment: .22 caliber rimfire rifle, a rifle rest, bag or bipod & .22LR standard velocity ammo (less than 1100 fps).
✅ Round count:
The "scope" match is 25 rounds plus as many sighters as you wish to shoot.
The "iron sight" match is 20 rounds plus sighters.
✅ Scope targets are the green IBS Rimfire 50 YARD targets with 25 small bullseyes plus sighters on one target, one shot per bullseye - max score 250-25X.
✅ Targets for iron sights, aperture sights and non-magnified red dot sights are “NRA A23/5 100 Yard small bore targets” with 4 larger bullseyes plus a sighter per target, 5 shots per bullseye - max score 200-20X.
✅ Scoring is "best edge". The shooter to your left will score your target. The shooter at the last bench will score the bench 1. The match director and designated scorers will settle any disputed scores.
✅ Tally the scores: To speed up scoring in Practiscore, each shooter is asked to write the score value of in the corner of each bullseye and tally the Xs, 10s, 9s, 8s, ... 0s at the top of the completed target.
➗ DIVISIONS: UNLIMITED, FACTORY, VINTAGE and TACTICAL each with SCOPE or IRON SIGHTS (Non-magnified sights). See division requirements in the match documents below.
➗ UNLIMITED DIVISION requirements:
- Any type of rest is acceptable for unlimited as long as it is NOT ATTACHED to the bench.
- The MSRP of the rifle is more than $1250.
- Use of the following: barrel tuner, single shot target rifle, front plate, rear bag rider, one piece rifle rest, stock modifications, after market barrel.
- On the Excluded Factory Rifle List.
➗ FACTORY DIVISION requirements:
- The rifle must be magazine or tube fed (however, hand feeding single rounds is permitted).
- Total cost (MSRP) of the rifle is less than $1250.
- No modifications to the firearm or stock* are permitted, except for the trigger.
- No barrel attachments (no tuners, ports, etc.), simple muzzle brakes are allowed.
- No stock attachments (no front plate, no rear bag rider).
- Rests: front & rear sand bags, or bipod and rear sand bag, no one piece rests.
- The rifle may not be fixed to the bag/rest in any manner.
*As for stock modification, if the rifle has a replacement stock that does not cause the rig to exceed the $1250 MSRP limit and does not offer any real advantage, such as a wider front plate area or an integral bag rider, it can be considered factory class (match director's decision).
⛔ EXCLUDED FACTORY Rifle List (mostly from the IBS rule book) - if you are shooting one of these rifles you are in the UNLIMITED division.
Anschutz, Browning Model 52, BSA Martini, Cooper 57, Christensen Arms, CZ Bruno, CZ 457 VPT, CZ VPT-MTR, Hall, H&R Model 12 and 5200, Holeshot 2500X & Trident, Kimber, Lithgow LA101, Marlin Model 2000 Variations, Remington Models 37, 40X, 504, 513, 540, 541, Sako - P94S/FinnFire, Quad, Savage Anschutz, Springfield M2/1922, Stevens Ranger, Turbo, Vudoo, Winchester Model 52 & 75, X-III, Zermatt Arms RimX.
➗ VINTAGE DIVISION requirements are the same as factory and unlimited, but manufactured before 1980.
Choose between VINTAGE - Unlimited or VINTAGE - Factory.
➗ TACTICAL DIVISION is meant to fit shooters with NRL22 or steel challenge type gear shooting from bags.
- No mechanical rests. Use shooting bags; front only, front and rear, or bipod.
- The MSRP of the rifle and modifications is $1250 or less.
- Iron sights & red dots (no mag) or low power scope set at ❗6X ❗or less. Variable power scopes, for example a 4-24X scope, must be set at ❗6X❗.
- This division will shoot the bigger A23/5 iron sight targets.
Examples: S&W M&P AR-15-22 with a 1-6X tactical scope set at 6X, Ruger 10/22 with a 4-24X scope set at 6X, Tikka T1x with a 3-9X scope set at 6X.
✅ If you want to shoot, please register to reserve a bench.
❗Final squad and bench assignments will be made at the match.❗
You may register to shoot up to three divisions for record, if space allows (unlimited scope, unlimited irons, factory scope & factory irons, vintage, etc.), i.e. you can register an unlimited scoped rifle, a factory scope rifle and again for a factory iron sights rifle for record (if we have space). You will be scored in each division - up to 3 different rifles.
You may register to shoot a SECOND or THIRD match (❗2nd & 3rd registrations are $5 each).
❗If you shoot the SAME division you shot in your first match, only the FIRST score counts for record.
- If the match is full and people are wait-listed, you may be asked to relinquish your 2nd or 3rd registrations so that everyone gets to shoot.
- If you are wait-listed, you will be added as spots open up due to cancellations, or as second registrations are relinquished.
- You may sign-up in any squad. This will facilitate shooting with friends and family.
❗If you are shooting in more than one division, be sure to put your registrations in two different squads. I will try to keep you at the same bench for your second match.
❗BENCH numbers are 'TENTATIVELY' assigned by the sign-up order. Final bench assignments are made the morning of the match. We can shuffle to accommodate friends who want to shoot together.
❗⚠️❗-SAFETY-❗⚠️❗
❗Do not handle firearms until you are instructed to do so.
❗RIFLES CANNOT BE TAKEN OUT OF THE CASE until the match director finalizes bench assignments and instructs the shooters to uncase their rifles.
❗When given the OK to uncase, bring your cased rifle to the bench, uncase and set-up with the muzzle pointed down range.
❗Please READ the "SAFETY" match document before coming to the match. We will review safety before the match.
⏰ Online registration closes 7:00AM Saturday morning.
⏰ SHOW UP by 8:55AM or earlier to help SET-UP and SIGN-IN.
⏰ You now need a gate code (in your confirmation email) to enter DPC. The gate codes will not work past 8:55AM.
$$ CASH PAYMENT is due when you sign-in.
SET-UP Procedure:
Everyone should help set-up and tear-down.
1 - Shooters arrive before 9AM and, as a group, set-up 12 target stands on the 50-yard line at the marked positions.
2 - After roll call, collection of registration fees and the safety briefing, shooters will be assigned to a squad and a bench position.
NOTE: the Practiscore squad & bench assignments are tentative due to no-shows, walk-ons and keeping shooters at the same bench when they shoot a second rifle.
3 - After getting a squad and a bench assignment, shooters may mount a target on the stand for their bench position. Shooters are encouraged to deploy wind flags and vanes between the shooting bench and their targets at this time.
