Mandatory Safety Briefing is 12:15 pm
First Time IDPA Shooter’s Briefing
First time IDPA shooters should arrive and register by 11 am to be present for the New Shooter Safety Briefing. It will be at 11:30 in the pavilion area. Here you’ll learn all you need to know about safety rules, target engagement, scoring, etc.
Basic Equipment for IDPA
Eye and ear protection (required at CGC)
Pistol or revolver (that meet IDPA requirements)
Strong-side hip holster (that meet IDPA requirements)
Magazines, speedloaders or moonclips
Single or double magazine pouch, speedloader or moon clip holders (as appropriate)
Sturdy gun belt that holds holster and magazine holders securely
Cover garment (vest, jacket, coat, long shirt, etc.) Active Duty LEO’s may wear their Duty Belt and be exempt from concealment requirements
Ammunition, Matches generally consist of 12-18 rounds per stage for six stages.
Range bag, gym bag or back pack to carry your equipment
Baseball hat
Water and/or sodas
Snacks
Sunscreen and/or insect repellent
