This is a traditional 25m Project Appleseed rifle event.
Both Centerfire and 22 Rimfire rifles are allowed at this event.

Safety Notice:
- Keep ALL firearms in your vehicle until after the safety briefing and you are instructed to bring them to the firing line.
- No illegal firearms are allowed.
- At centerfire-friendly ranges, rifle cartridges are limited to 8mm (rifle) or .45 caliber (pistol and pistol caliber carbines).
- Effective 8/8/2025, Project Appleseed has temporarily suspended the SIG-Sauer P320/M17/M18 (all variants) in our Pistol Clinics.
- Parents of youth attending, please read our Message to Parents.
Subject to state and local laws, Instructors at your event may have discounted .22 ammo available. Reach out to the contact at the bottom of this page for availability.

Directions:
From the North (Helena/Boulder) Follow I-15 South of Boulder to exit 160 (High Ore). At the exit stop, turn right, and the right again onto Galena Gulch Road. Follow this straight (parallel to I-15)for about ¾ of a mile, onto Cattle Drive Road till you see the entrance at the end of the road on the left (through the old RR bridge underpass). Do not cross back underneath the interstate again or you have gone too far.
From the South (Butte) Follow I-15 towards Boulder until exit 160 (High Ore). At the exit stop, turn left, and then right just after the underpass onto Galena Gulch Road. Follow this straight (parallel to I-15)for about ¾ of a mile, onto Cattle Drive Road till you see the entrance at the end of the road on the left (through the old RR bridge underpass). Do not cross back underneath the interstate again or you have gone too far.

Please bring lunch, snacks and water as there are no food retailers in the area. The High Ore Shooting Range is an outdoor range maintained and operated by a club called the Last Chance Handgunners. When not hosting a shooting event the range is closed to the public. The range is located off exit 160 of I-15 near Boulder Montana. There are ten shooting bays to choose from, plus 2 long range rifle bays. The Club puts on numerous Shooting events during the warmer months of the year which are open to the public, and are modestly priced. The club tries to provide an eclectic mix of shooting opportunities. Safety and FUN are the clubs priorities. Additional Comments LCH Range Rules; 1- Keep gate closed except at events. - Preferably locked 2- Use eye and ear protection at all times. Including spectators 3- No rifles or magnum caliber handguns on any metal targets that are not in the long range bay. This includes the Bianchi plates. 4- 22 rifle or pistol only on the 22 plates in bay one - no other caliber. 5- The wooden shed and extensions are off limits to members except during set-up and takedown for formal shooting events 6- Cleanup your garbage, and paper targets. It is not necessary to pick up brass. 7- Guests must be accompanied by a member.
