ZOOM & BOOM YOUTH BIATHLON

ZOOM & BOOM YOUTH BIATHLON is a .22LR Rifle only biathlon through the fields and woods of Pawnee County Oklahoma on Saturday Oct 17th, utilizing the same course and stage locations as the Twilight Biathlon which is occurring later that evening, the Kids will utilize different targets with their .22s. .22LR can be any type of action or barrel length, it just needs to have a stock or brace, a Sling, and your child should know how to operate it. Your kid will also need pouches to store extra mags.
This course will run like Twilight, if you are unfamilar with that format, you will be given a run#, on your first lap you will shoot the Even numbered stages if your run# is an Even, then shooting the Odd numbered stages on your 2nd/last lap. If your run# is Odd, you will shoot the Odd numbered stages on your 1st lap and then the Even numbered stages on your 2nd/last lap. Expect around 3 miles +/- and 4 stages.
There will be physical obstacles like slack lines, walls, low crawls as well as the natural obstacles the terrain provides. Parents/Adult will run with their child, but will not shoot, carry the kid's rifle/mags or assist on any stages or obstacles unless there is a potential safety issue, the goal is the let the kids do it on their own so they can get an idea on how RnGs work. Parents/Adults are there for safety and moral support only.
There will be 3 divisions:
8-13yrs old w/ Parent/Adult run buddy
14-17yrs old w/ Parent/Adult run buddy (brand new to shooting sports)
14-17yrs old Solo (must have RnG or other shooting sport experience)
Under no circumstances will there be loaded firearms while running the course. Parents/Adults running with kids are also responsible for adhering to the rules. Please read all Burial Mound rules at https://theburialmound.com/rng

Rifle distances will be anywhere from 40-100yds
Food and beverages will not be provided at this event, so plan accordingly
CHECK-IN: 7:45-8am
SAFETY BRIEF: 8:10, you and your kid must attend to run.
