VCDL Benefit Reactive Steel Match

May 23 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

This is a special Reactive Steel match, open to the general public, in which all proceeds will be donated to VCDL for use in the ongoing campaign to defend our rights.
The match fee is $25, payable in cash or check (made out to "VCDL") on the day of the match. Exact change is greatly appreciated. Additional donations by cash or check are most welcome. Every penny collected for this match goes to VCDL.
The match comprises four stages and features approximately 120 reactive steel targets that must be knocked over, down, or off. Instant gratification is our motto.
The match is held on the lower ranges. Shooters check in at the Pistol Range Firing Line starting at 8:30 AM. Shooters briefing is at 9:30 AM, and shooting starts immediately after the briefing ends.
Ear and eye protection is mandatory for all, including spectators.
This match is run as a Cold Range, meaning no one has a loaded gun until they are at a shooting position and commanded to load by their safety officer.
IDPA/USPSA safety rules and commands govern this match. A 180 rule will be in effect on all stages unless otherwise specified in the stage briefing. Watch your muzzle, and keep your finger off the trigger while moving or reloading.
Competition divisions for this event are:
CFPI - Center-Fire Pistols with iron(open) sights
CFPO - Center-Fire Pistols with optics
PCC - Center-Fire Pistol Caliber Carbines or braced pistols
There is no limit on magazine capacity or the number of magazines you may carry. Bring out your soon-to-be-grandfathered gear!
Strong-side belt holsters only. No shoulder holsters, cross-draw or back-side holsters.
Ammo must be common pistol cartridges, no magnums please. No steel core ammo allowed. Bring plenty of ammo!
Scoring is elapsed time plus 5 seconds for any target not knocked over or down. Lowest score wins.
Normal starting position is with a holstered pistol or PCC at the low ready, with all safeties engaged. Pistol shooters without a holster or uncomfortable drawing from a holster may start from the low ready position but receive a 3 second penalty.
Pistol shooters without holsters and PCC shooters must keep their firearms cased until it is their turn to shoot.
