GPS coordinates @ 43°56'35.16"N 117°13'18.73"W
Directions: From the town of Vale, Oregon travel south on Lytle Boulevard about two miles. The only signs are about fire danger and prohibition of exploding targets. Turn right onto the gravel road, then at the immediate fork turn left and follow the road for roughly a half mile to the range.
Drive past the pistol pits with two Conex containers, then keep right past the first rifle pavilion. The rimfire range will be straight head and you'll see a small building next to a Conex container. Park anywhere on the gravel.
NEW SHOOTER INFO:
***************************
If you are a new shooter or parent of a prospective new shooter, please read this section:
You are welcome to come shoot this match, BUT PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANY GUNS, AMMO, OR GEAR FIRST. You can come and watch a match before you play, but you will have more fun if you dive right in.
We will provide you with a rifle and all the ammo you will need to shoot your first match. No charge, no obligation, no kidding -- we love introducing new shooters to the sport.
There are myriad choices out there and it is overwhelming to choose your first rifle. It is also silly to show up to a match with a completely wrong gun for this game. Almost all shooters love show-and-tell with their gear, so you can pick their brains and find out what you might like before you spend a fortune.
Benchrest short-range is a great match to get you started in the shooting sports or to hone your skills as an advanced shooter.
