SoCal Long Range PIRU - HUNTER Style Precision Rifle Match - June 20th, 2026

Our Hunter Style Match is a field-style precision rifle competition designed to simulate real-world hunting scenarios. It will require shooters to locate, range, and engage steel targets at various distances from specific barricades. Any gear will be allowed, as long as you pack it with you to each stage. Each of the stages will have 3 Targets, and be blind stage where shooters have a time limit of 4 minutes to locate, range and engage each target using the 2-1 dead target scoring. This scoring system awards 2 points for a first-round hit and 1 point for a second-round hit, with a maximum of 6 points available per stage. (2 shots per target). There will be six stages taking place on multiple bays, with distances from 250 to 600+ yards. NO STEEL CORE AMMO ALLOWED.
Divisions (.30 cal max.):
Factory Light: Unmodified, factory built rifles under 12 lbs. including scope and bipod.
Open Heavy: Custom or modified riles over 12 lbs. (PRS style, and everything else).
Safety Requirements:
All long guns must have magazines out and a safety/chamber flag installed when not on the line.
All long guns must be bagged or cased when transported between your car and the staging area.
Check in at Bay 30 picnic tables.
7:30 am - Check in.
8:00 am - Safety Brief and Zero if needed.
8:30 am - Squad Stage Assignment.
9:00 am - Match Starts.


Match fee: $50. Please bring cash as there is no cellular service in the canyon and digital payments are not an option.
If you are NOT a member of California-Tactical, PLEASE FILL OUT THE DIGITAL WAIVER AT THE PUBLIC RANGE PRIOR TO HEADING UP THE CANYON.
If for some reason you are not able to attend, please withdraw from the match and let me know as soon as possible.
