.22 Rimfire Challenge Match Description
Match Overview
Our .22 Rimfire Challenge Match is designed to provide a fun, safe, and challenging shooting experience for shooters of all skill levels. This match focuses on practical shooting fundamentals including accuracy, target transitions, and stage planning using affordable and low-recoil .22 rimfire firearms.
The match will consist of 2 pistol and 2 rifle stages that simulate practical shooting scenarios. Competitors will engage a variety of steel targets from different shooting distances.
This match is intended to be beginner-friendly while still providing a competitive environment for experienced shooters.
Firearm & Equipment
• .22 LR Rimfire Rifle and Pistol
• Semi-auto magazine fed (no tube fed rifles)
• Minimum of 3– 5 magazines recommended
• Eye and ear protection required for all shooters and spectators
• Chamber flags may be required depending on range rules
Course of Fire
• Multiple stages will be set up on the range
• Stages may include:
Steel targets
Multiple shooting distances
• Round counts will typically range 25 rounds per stage, if you don’t miss.
Scoring
Scoring will typically follow time plus penalties:
• Fastest time wins
• Missed targets add penalty time
Final match standings will be based on total time plus penalties across all stages.
Safety
Safety is the top priority.
All competitors must follow range commands and the directions of the Range Officer (RO) at all times.
Key safety rules include:
• Keep firearms pointed in a safe direction at all times
• Keep finger off the trigger until sights are on target
• Follow all range commands immediately
• If you are unsure of a stage procedure, ask before shooting
Any unsafe firearm handling may result in match disqualification.
Who Can Participate
This match is open to:
• New shooters
• Youth shooters (with parent/guardian as required)
• Experienced competitors looking for inexpensive practice
• Anyone wanting to improve their shooting skills in a safe and supportive environment

• Promote safe firearm handling
• Build shooting skills and confidence
• Provide an affordable shooting sport
• Create a fun and welcoming shooting community

Match Fee
$10 for members
$20 for non members
$3 for youth
