Rio Salado Intro To Steel I2S August 2026

Rio Salado's Intro To Steel Match is a simple, straight forward match specifically designed for beginning competition shooters, but also provides options that can test the skills of advanced shooters.
Format:
Keep your best 2 of 3 runs on each stage except movement stages where you keep your best 1 of 2 runs.
Typically 4-stages with no more than 6 hits required per string (may be some exceptions for bonus hits).
Typical match requires 66 shots if you don't miss...and don't want to have any spare mages loaded.
I would recommend to bring at least 100 rounds.
NOTE - YOU MUST HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE PSSC (PRACTICAL SHOOTING STARTER COURSE) TO COMPETE IN INTRO TO STEEL (or be classified by a Nationally-Sanctioned Shooting Sport).
The PSSC card is mandatory to compete in all of the other "Practical" pistol matches and Tuesday Night Steel at Rio Salado.
If you just received your PSSC card, SIGN UP AS NOVICE CLASS THE FIRST 3 TIMES YOU SHOOT A MATCH.
We follow all USPSA Safety Rules.
Bring your UNLOADED gun, a belt, holster, mag pouches, eye protection, ear protection and about 100 rounds of ammo to compete.
