Righteous Savages Practical Shooting Match

RS Practical V1.0 is a seven-stage practical shooting match built around the skills that matter most when running a practical firearm: speed, accuracy, movement, transitions, and efficient gun handling.
The match will consist of 7 stages incorporating both rifle and handgun, with courses of fire varying from stage to stage. Expect a mixture of positional shooting, movement, target transitions, reloads, and practical shooting challenges. Some stages may emphasize one firearm, while others may require both.
Scoring:
RS Practical uses the PCSL Hit Factor scoring system, rewarding competitors who effectively balance speed and accuracy. All stages contribute to the final overall score.
Ammunition:
Plan to bring approximately 150 rounds of rifle ammunition and 100 rounds of handgun ammunition. This is a recommended amount and provides a reasonable reserve for make-up shots, reshoots, and sighting/zeroing needs. Actual scored round counts will be published with the stage briefs.
Firearms & Equipment:
RS Practical uses one practical equipment division. Bring a reliable, duty/practical-style rifle and handgun configured for real-world use.
Generally permitted:
* Standard duty/defensive-style rifles
* Standard semi-automatic handguns
* Red dots and conventional magnified optics
* Weapon-mounted lights
* Practical aftermarket triggers
* Standard/reasonable magwells
* Practical muzzle devices
* Standard-capacity magazines where lawful
* Normal slings and practical shooting equipment
The division is intended for practical firearms rather than dedicated race guns. Equipment specifically designed or configured primarily to gain a competition advantage—such as large competition magwells, compensators/ports on handguns, race-oriented modifications, or other specialized competition equipment—is not permitted.

Who Can Shoot:
RS Practical is open to civilians, law enforcement, military personnel, experienced competitors, and shooters who simply want to become better with their firearms. No competitive shooting background is required.
What to Expect:
This is a timed competition, but it isn’t about having the most expensive gun or the most specialized setup. Bring the gun you’d actually trust, know your equipment, and come ready to shoot safely and efficiently.
