Poke the Bear 2026 Light Class

November 7 @ 11:00 am - November 9 @ 1:30 am

Attention Shooters,
Black Bear ELR Shooting Team is excited for the annual “Poke the Bear” match directed by Jordan Congdon & Daniel Lynn.
**Registration will open on September 4th @ 8am EST & will close November 4th @ 9pm EST. **
BEGINS: November 7th, 2026 @ 7 AM, safety brief at 730 am (ZERO day is Friday November 6th for BOTH classes, gates open at 10am & close at 4pm)
ENDS: November 8th 2026 by 6:30 PM
WHERE: Black Bear Shooting Complex, 2019 W James Anderson Highway Gladstone VA
** Gates will open at 10am on Zero day (November 6th) & close at 4 pm, there will be (2) 100 yard targets at zero range, same location. There will be a 1000 yd target at the tower location. **
** Lunch will be available for cash purchase Light day, so please bring cash if interested (November 7th) & Heavy day (November 8th), no food will be available on Zero day. **
** Shooters can enter the gate starting at 6am, signs will be present for direction starting when you turn onto Lauras’s lane from Hwy 60 **
** Safety brief will be at 7:30 am with the first shooter pulling the trigger by 8 am weather permitting. **
There will be 6 targets per class, 5 rounds per target, 2 relays, 7 minutes each relay, 3 targets per relay, this is NOT hit to advance. Target distances will be posted.
Light Class will shoot Saturday followed by awards Saturday evening.
Heavy Class will shoot Sunday followed by awards Sunday afternoon.
Zero day is November 6th for BOTH classes, there will be NO zeroing on Saturday November 7th, gates open at 10am & close at 4pm on November 6th for zero range. ** No one can shoot on the Blackbear Shooting Complex until they have signed the liability waivers. Waivers will be in your approved shooter email from Practiscore in the form of a link. This is NOT hit to advance, you CAN share rifles.
