OSA Running Boar Practice - 10 May 2026
The OSA Running Boar (moving target) practice is open to OSA members, OSA affiliate members and guests.
You'll need your hunting-style rifle, either smallbore (up to and including 223) or fullbore (over 223). You'll need about 200 rounds of ammunition that is proven safe in your rifle, and your usual range equipment. You'll need a long-sleeved shirt, slacks, closed-toe shoes, and a ballcap or brimmed hat. Also, make sure you bring adequate food and fluid for the day, as well as insect repellent and sunscreen. Electronic hearing protection and safety glasses are mandatory. This is a practice, leading towards the Running Boar Championship in September. You can download the course of fire from the osacanada.ca website (at the bottom of the Events page).
Your rifle must be zeroed, ideally at either 50 or 100 meters. (You'll get an opportunity to confirm your zero.)
Plan for the Day: Check in, safety briefing, discuss course of fire and equipment, confirm zeroes, moving target work ups.
$75.00 for non-members. $25.00 off for OSA members and $25.00 off for OSA affiliate members. If you're under 18, register as a junior.
Check in on the 100-meter range at 0830.
- The 600-meter range will be active on this day. Be on time so you don't interfere with their traffic.
- You may be asked for proof of club membership.
- Mandatory safety briefing starts at 0845. If you are not present for the safety briefing, you will not be able to participate.
