Ladies Only Pistol 1 is designed for new shooters who want to learn how to safely handle, operate and shoot a handgun in a women-only class. We start in the classroom with how handguns work, ammunition, firearm safety and safe storage, then move to the range to put what you’ve learned into practice.
What You’ll Learn:
Classroom Instruction
- Understanding Your Handgun: Learn how semi-automatic handguns operate, including common action types, and the ammunition they use.
- Firearm Safety & Range Procedures: Learn the rules of firearm safety, how to safely handle your handgun and what to expect when shooting on the range.
- Safe Storage: Discuss practical options for safely securing a handgun at home while considering accessibility and your individual situation.
On the Range
- Stance & Grip: Learn how your stance and grip work together to give you better control of the handgun and manage recoil.
- Sight Alignment & Trigger Control: Learn how sight alignment and trigger control affect where your shots land and practice both on the range.
- Putting It Together: Work through shooting drills with instructor feedback, bringing the individual skills together and making adjustments as you shoot.
Equipment Needed
- Bring your handgun if you own one. Gun rentals are included if needed.
- Bring at least 50 rounds of ammunition. Ammunition is available for purchase before class.
- Targets, eye protection and ear protection are provided.
Ladies Only Pistol 1 can be taken before or after our License to Carry class. LTC focuses on the laws and requirements associated with carrying a handgun in Texas, while this class gives you dedicated instruction and range time to learn how to safely handle and shoot one.
