Once the gun is approved for hand-sized status you will be given a green ticket which you will present at the Stat Shack at check-in. As a reminder, the Stat Shack closes promptly at 9:45 AM –be sure you allow for enough time to complete equipment check prior to Stat Shack closing.
Forget what entails ‘hand-sized’ status? See below excerpt from the Practiscore registration page:
Defining the, “Hand-Sized Handgun”: To help ensure no shenanigans, we will be basing our definition on IDPA’s Backup Gun (BUG) Division guidance with below noted exceptions.
Size—regarding size, the hand-sized handgun (pistols with the largest magazine inserted) must easily fit within the IDPA “BUG” gun test box measuring 6 ½” x 4 ⅝” x 1 ⅜”. *NOTE: “easily fit” means a slip fit, such that, when the test box is lifted off the handgun, the handgun will slip out. While inserted magazines may be compressed flush to allow fitment, we will not force a handgun into the test box.
In the case of Hand-Sized -Optic Division, we will have a “BUG-Optic Box” –that is, an IDPA-sized BUG test box with the top portion removed. *NOTE: Only the sights, optic and irons (if equipped), are allowed to protrude out top of the Hand-Sized -Optic test box –the rest of the Hand-Sized -Optic pistol (with largest magazine inserted) must easily fit within the gun test box. Also, firearms used in Hand-Sized -Optic Division must be equipped with an optical sight system (i.e., RDS and/or laser).
Handgun Type / Caliber—any semi-automatic pistol* or revolver, chambered for any centerfire caliber may be used –as long as it fits in appropriate test box as described above, its good-to-go!
*NOTE: No Sig P320 / M17 / M18 pistols or variants thereof allowed.
Weight—no restrictions.
