Location: San Diego County, California Near I15 and Hwy 76
Venue: Large Private Property
Entry Fee: $100 per competitor
FDT Competition is a one-day event built around Fitness, Defense, and Tradecraft. Competitors will be challenged across four distinct stages designed to test individual performance, practical shooting ability, physical capability, and the ability to perform tactical skills under pressure.

Shooting Only
Functional Fitness
Shooting + Fitness
Shooting + Fitness + Tradecraft
The first three stages are primarily time-based, with faster valid completion times earning better placement.
The final Fitness + Defense + Tradecraft evolution is also time-based but includes a required GO / NO GO Tradecraft standard. Competitors must successfully complete the required Tradecraft task to receive a valid stage completion.
This event is designed to be competitive while remaining approachable for people looking to have fun, test themselves, train under pressure, or get additional experience for other shooting and fitness competitions.
Competitors are scored individually and will be private upon request.
Stage Brief will be sent out prior to start with exception to the Fieldcraft event which will remain obscured until the moment. Train for everything.
Stage briefs will cover specific equipment, procedures, and standards. We are not tied to any affiliate leading our ability for more realistic approach to shooting and training.
Scoring: Time based. Lowest score wins like golf. Placed 15 = 15 points
Penalties: Increase in time
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Competitors should plan to bring:
Rifle
Pistol
Appropriate rifle sling
Secure pistol holster
Eye protection
Ear protection
Body armor / plate carrier meeting event requirements 10lbs minimum without any other equipment men and women- combat has no gender weights however weights in workouts will be scaled.
Appropriate rifle and pistol magazines
Gun belt / load-bearing equipment as needed
Factory ammunition for both weapon systems
Steel-core ammunition and reloaded ammunition are prohibited.
Competitors must retain the original factory ammunition packaging for inspection at check-in.
Specific equipment requirements for individual stages will be provided in the applicable Stage Brief email.
RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT
Competitors are encouraged to bring:
Food and snacks
Plenty of water and electrolytes
Shade
Chair
Table
Range cart or wagon
Sunscreen
Appropriate clothing and footwear
Small firearm / equipment repair kit
Basic first-aid supplies
Additional magazines
Additional factory ammunition which will also be for sale at the event for the event
Rental rifles and pistols available with holsters available. Limited supply
Final ammunition requirements and estimated round count will be released with the stage information.
RANGE PROCEDURES
Rifles must remain unloaded with magazines removed and chamber flags installed when not being used during an authorized evolution.
Pistols must remain unloaded with magazines removed and secured in an approved holster or case.
Firearms may only be loaded when directed by the Stage RO.
All firearm clearing, loading, unloading, and malfunction procedures will be conducted under the direction or observation of event safety personnel.
COMPETITOR PARTICIPATION
Competitors will be assigned to groups for movement through the event but will continue to compete as individuals.

Judging
Stage reset
Target reset
Brass collection
Participation in these duties is part of the event format.

STAGE INFORMATION
Detailed stage information, final schedule, equipment requirements, round count, and other important competitor information will be distributed to registered participants as the event approaches.
Certain Tradecraft elements may remain unknown until the competitor begins the evolution in order to preserve the intent of the stage.
