DRPC Defensive Handgun Match June 14 2026
The DRPC Defensive Handgun Match offers self defense and home defense scenario based stages and is a great opportunity to build skill with your concealed carry or home defense pistol. The Defensive Handgun Match helps shooters develop proper use of cover, puts an emphasis on accuracy, and provides opportunities to shoot on the move and to engage moving targets. The match also provides opportunities to practice slide lock and tactical reloads and on occasion a variety of malfunction clearances.
Matches are held each month April through November and consist of at least 4 stages, each with their own unique rules posted about a week before the match date. The Defensive Pistol Match is not IDPA and is not USPSA but it's own unique sport with stage and scenario driven rules. Concealed carry gear is encouraged, concealment or cover garments are required on most stages, holster, mag pouches and at least 3 magazines or speed loaders will be needed. All handguns are welcome but please no PCCs or carbines.
The match welcomes men and women and teens with safe gun handling experience accompanied by a responsible adult. Match fees are $10 for DRPC members and $15 for non-members payable in cash on the morning of the match. Set up is the Saturday before at 10:00 am. On Sunday, gates open at 7:15 am. All shooter must be present and checking in by 8:30 am. Shooting starts once new shooters have completed orientation, Safety Officers and Score Keepers are ready to go.
