We’re proud to announce that Old Eighteen Defense will be bringing our 2026 Series, and Rivals Tactical Biathlon to the gorgeous Croton Creek Ranch, located in the Plains of Cheyenne, Oklahoma. Known for its rugged beauty, this challenging venue is the perfect setting for what promises to be an unforgettable competition.
About the Tactical Biathlon
The Tactical Biathlon is a 2-gun endurance shooting event where competitors carry both a rifle and pistol across a 6–10mile course featuring multiple stages. This format tests not only marksmanship but also physical endurance, adaptability, and mental toughness.
Course Highlights:
Competitors are assigned unique start times.
No resupply is allowed once on the course.
Stages vary: rifle-only, pistol-only, or mixed.
Each stage has a 3-minute time limit. Sometimes 4 min….
Failure to complete a stage in time results in a Did Not Finish (DNF).
Target Engagement:
Pistol targets: 15–75 yards
Rifle targets: 50–700 yards
Stages include unique layouts, requiring movement, positional changes, and transitions between weapons.
Scoring:
Weighted 50% shooting performance / 50% run time (Unless otherwise noted on the specific event page.)
Safety Rules:
Rifles must remain unloaded with no magazine inserted while on the move.
Pistols may be carried in Condition 1 (round chambered, holstered).
Mandatory checks will occur at the start/finish and entry/exit of each stage.
Strict safety enforcement: violations will result in immediate disqualification (DQ) and removal from the course.
