Intro -
Colonial RPC Shotgun Action Match. This will be an all-steel match with about 5 to 32 targets per stage. We will be shooting steel at about 15 to 20 yards and we will be moving and changing positions and engaging targets. We Have new props which will make the match interesting. We need all the help we can get, so we just ask if you can come out and help with the setup, we would like to be hammer down by 8am.
Match details -
The match will consist of 4 to 5 stages about 5 to 32 shells each. You will need about 100 to 150 shell (Bring more) Target loads #8, #7.5 and at least 1oz (would recommend 1 1/8th oz) (NO STEEL SHOT/BUCKSHOT/NO SLUGS). If your shotgun take chokes, bring does too. Depending on the stage you may need to change them.
Equipment
• Shotgun semi-automatic or Pump Only, 12ga or 20ga.
• It will consist of 4 classes
- Pump (P)
- Pump Optic (PO)
- Semi (S)
- Semi Optic (SO)
Ammunition
• 100 to 150 shells required for this match
• Using #8.5, #8, #7.5 shot with a Payload of at least 1oz - we recommend 1 1/8oz and #8 or #7.5 (NO STEEL SHOT)
• Absolutely NO!!!! BUCKSHOT, SLUGS or STEEL SHOT. Using any Buckshot, Slugs or steel shot will be an automatic DQ.
Auxiliary Equipment
• Shell carrier or belt carrier or shotgun mounted Caddy. Ultimately you can stuff the shells in your pocket if needed or a dump pouch.
Match Rules (maybe updated at time of match)
• Match will consist of 4 to 5 stages with 5 to 32 targets per stage with movements involved.
• You will have 180 secs to complete each Stage. All your reloads must come from your body or mounted Carrier on your shotgun, stage dependent. Any shells that hit the ground will be considered spent shells (no picking up shells from ground). Any one picking up shells that hit the ground during the course of fire will be DQed.
• Eyes and Ear protection at all times once the match has started.
• All shotgun must be empty and have a chamber flag. Any shotgun found without a flag or mag tube loaded, shooter will be DQed
• All shotguns must be on the table/rack.
• If you are the next shooter wait for RO to tell you to retrieve your shotgun muzzle pointed up and be ready to load at the starting position muzzle pointing to the bream while loading.
• No Ammo on the shotgun Staging table/rack, side caddies or Match saver must be empty.
• No finger inside the trigger while reloading or handling shotgun unless actively shooting at targets.
• Start position Low ready or stage briefing dependent. all shotgun must have safety engaged.
• 180° rules apply/flagging anyone or yourself will be a DQ
• Accidental discharge will be an automatic DQ.
Time Line -
Setup will start Friday at 5pm and anything that doesn't get done at 7am until finish
Registration opens at 7:45am and closes at 8:30am.
New Shooter orientation will be at 8am.
Shooter briefing at 8:15am. (must Attend)
Hammer down 8:30am.
