Canadian National Steel Challenge Championship 2026

What:
This is the Canadian National Championship for steel challenge shooting. All 8 stages will be shot each day with AM and PM sessions both days. Participants may shoot up to 2 guns per session with no limits on rimfire vs centre fire divisions. You may only shoot one gun from each of the 16 divisions (I.E: Cannot shoot RFRO twice).

Friday- Setup
Saturday/Sunday- AM flight 9am - 1pm, Lunch 1-2pm, PM flight 2pm - 6pm
Where:
BTSA range at the APRA shooting complex on Homestead Road. Google map link below. The main road gate and BTSA gates will be opened at 8am each day.

When:
August 15-16, 2026
Registration opens April 20 and closes July 31 so we can get awards done and finalize squadding. If you miss the deadline, please email steel@btsa.club and we'll try to get you in.
Cost:
$35 per gun
Youth under 18- First gun free (please email steel@btsa to register a youth first gun, all other entries can be registered normally)
****Please note: As this is a level 3 event, all competitors, including youth, must be SCSA/USPSA members or hold a current IPSC membership in their home region (per 6.1.1)*****
Squadding
Squads are self RO-ing and will be arranged by the MD to ensure enough experienced competitors on each squad. This is to help keep fees low in light of all the other challenges our sport is facing. Squads are up to 10 guns. Please include your preferred session and any squadding considerations such as shared equipment/family etc. in your registration and we will try our best to accommodate.

Ammo (round count is 195 rounds per gun without misses, double is recommended)
Gun belt and appropriate holster for center fire handguns
Match results:
Match results will be posted publicly to PractiScore at the end of each shooting day and between sessions if time allows.

The official steel challenge rule book governs all our steel challenge matches. Please make sure to give it a read through so that you are familiar with the rules, commands, and equipment divisions.

Refund policy: Refunds will be issued, less any credit card processing fees, up to July 10. There will be no refunds after July 10. Please make sure to use the withdraw feature and then email steel@btsa.club for the fastest turnaround should you need to cancel your registration. Should the match be cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances (ex: covid), refunds will be issued less any unrecoverable expenses.
