Built Different: For Her Hosted by Firearm Logic and Body by Julia

October 31 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Built Different: For Her is a hands on firearms training experience designed to help women develop the confidence, safety, and practical skills needed to handle a firearm effectively.
## Lead Instructor: Dennis Tran
Dennis Tran is the founder and lead instructor of Firearm Logic. He has spent the past five years traveling throughout the country and competing in practical shooting at a high level.
Dennis created Firearm Logic to bring the skills he developed through competition back to his community in Arizona. His primary focus is helping law enforcement officers, including SAU and SWAT personnel, improve their practical shooting performance. Firearm Logic also hosts Arizona’s largest recurring monthly match exclusively for law enforcement and first responders, serving more than 100 participants each month.
Built Different: For Her brings that same practical approach to women who want to become safer, more confident, and more capable with firearms.
## Body by Julia
Julia Nista, founder of Body by Julia and the Girl’s Club Mixer, has spent over five years helping hundreds of women across the Valley improve their strength, confidence, and independence through health and fitness. Julia is an Arizona State University alumna, Certified Personal Trainer, and Nutrition Coach with a passion for fitness and self development.
Through this collaboration, Julia wants to give women another practical skill set that can help them feel more capable of protecting themselves and their loved ones.
## Assistant LE Instructors
The class will also be supported by active law enforcement professionals who believe in the mission of developing confident and capable women.
Ashley Elliff - Mesa PD Detective
Elsie Brink - Mesa PD Sergeant
Taylor Zalba - Mesa PD Ofc.
## Training Experience
This is an active, hands on class. Dennis believes in learning through action, so instruction will be followed immediately by practical repetitions.
Students will spend time handling firearms in a controlled environment before moving into live fire. The objective is for every participant to become comfortable handling a firearm safely and develop the structure needed to shoot accurately and consistently at distances of up to 10 yards.
Training will focus on:
• Universal firearm safety principles
• Safe loading, unloading, and handling
• Proper grip, stance, and body structure
• Sight alignment and visual confirmation
• Trigger control
• Recoil management
• Accurate and consistent shooting
• Building confidence through structured repetitions
No previous shooting experience is required.
## Firearms
Participants are highly encouraged to bring a firearm they already own, preferably one equipped with a red dot optic. Training with your own firearm will help you become more familiar and confident with the equipment you would actually use.
Firearm rentals will be available for an additional cost. Rental firearms will be comparable to a compact or full size Glock 19, Glock 17, or Glock 47 equipped with a red dot optic.
