2026 Kentucky Steel Challenge State Championship
This is the 10th Annual Kentucky Steel Challenge State Championship. It will be an 8-stage (all SCSA classifiers) match in half-day format. There will be 3 sessions (Friday morning, Saturday morning, & Saturday afternoon), and competitors will shoot all 8 stages in one session. A maximum of 2 guns per session, at this time. Exceptions may be able to be made if space is still available closer to match day.
Friday: Check-in will open at 7:00 and we will go hot at 8:00 AM, or once the final walk through is complete, whichever is soonest.
Saturday AM: Check-in opens at 7:00 and we'll go hot at 8.
Saturday PM: Competitors may check in anytime after 7:00 AM. We will go hot as close to 130 PM as possible. Saturday PM shooters need to be checked in and ready no later than 1PM so we can start as soon as the AM session is complete and everyone has been fed.
Awards and large prize drawings will take place immediately following the match, once scores are posted. We will have awards for all divisions, classes, and categories, based on the number of entries. Placement awards will be given based on registration numbers received by July 1, 2026. You do not have to be present to win your placement award or trophy. I can ship your awards/trophies for a fee of $10 or hand them to a proxy of your choice who can hand deliver them to you. For random prize drawings, you MUST be present to win.
Registration will be $60 for each gun ($40 for Junior/Preteen shooters). You will need to create a separate registration for each division you are shooting. Registration fee includes lunch. Additional meals for family members and other guests may be purchased from our vendor.
Once you have paid, you will be approved to squad. Please ensure that you squad all divisions you plan to shoot in a session. If the squad does not have space to accommodate all of your divisions, you will need to select a squad that has space.
If you wish to pre-order a match t-shirt, you may do so, prior to July 1st, for $20. T-shirt pre-orders will be turned off on 7/1, and we will have a limited number of shirts available for purchase at the match.
Cancellation policy: Cancellations before June 1st will receive a full refund minus a $5 processing fee. Cancellations between June 1-30 will receive a 50% refund. No refunds after June 30th.
If you are traveling with a group and wish to reserve an entire squad (10 entries total) please send me an email prior to registering & squadding and include a list of shooters and how many guns they will be shooting. If you have a starting stage preference, please include that as well.
Match Staff: Do NOT register! If approved as staff, MD will register and squad you to ensure that we have adequate staff on all Friday squads.
As in previous years, ROs will receive comp'd match fees (2 gun max), some cool swag from our sponsors, free lunch from our EXCELLENT food vendor, hotel (double occupancy) for out of town ROs, and entries in the drawings. All staff shoots on Friday as embedded ROs in a mixed competitor/staff squad.
Match Director reserves the right to consolidate squads for ease of match flow.
