2026 IDPA Omaha Outdoor Match at ENGC

August 29 @ 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm

For questions about this match, email TJ Mott ([email protected]).
This is the fourth annual IDPA outdoor match at ENGC! We will have 8 stages (150 rounds of ammo should be enough), with a lot more freedom of movement and more interesting layouts than our normal indoor matches.
This year's match is a Tier 1 event, which means you do NOT have to be an IDPA member with a current classification to participate. New shooters are welcome. Just check out the FAQ at https://www.idpanebraska.com/faq/ and feel free to ask the range officers any questions on match day.
Registration will start with 3 squads. If they fill up and we have enough SO's, we will expand the squads or create additional squads.
MATCH SCHEDULE
Match sign-in is from 7:45 AM to 8:45 AM. We will NOT be accepting walk-in registrations or on-site payment, so you must register here on Practiscore if you want to participate. (Spectators do not need to register or pay a match fee.)
The match briefing will be at 9:00 AM with shooting to begin immediately after. If all goes well, we will be done by 1:00 or 2:00 PM.
Match setup will begin around 6:00 or 6:30 AM. Any and all help is appreciated, so please consider showing up early.
If you are an IDPA safety officer and you're willing to help with the match, the registration form will have a checkbox to indicate this. You will likely be bumped around in the registration to balance SO's across squads, so if you have friends you really want to shoot with, or are sharing gear, let us know on match day and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
RANGE INFO
Eastern Nebraska Gun Club (https://engc.us/home) is an outdoor range a few miles east of Louisville, NE, near Omaha (View on Google Maps: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Eastern+Nebraska+Gun+Club/@41.0160638,-96.1118741,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x87940c55bc3772af:0x77a8e343f5e43062!8m2!3d41.0160598!4d-96.1096801!16s%2Fg%2F119vx05d6). The entrance is just west of a cemetery, and it's easy to miss. It is at the bottom of a hill with limited visibility so please be careful when turning in, and especially when leaving!
You do not have to be an ENGC or IDPA member to participate in this match. When you reach the range, let the range officer at the entrance know you're here for the IDPA match. We will be in Pistol Bays 1 - 5 at the very end of the gravel drive.
SAFETY INFORMATION
Always observe the four rules of gun safety:
1. Always treat every firearm as if it is loaded.
2. Keep your finger off the trigger and out of the trigger guard until you are aimed at a target and ready to fire.
3. Don't point your muzzle at anything you don't want to destroy.
4. Always be sure of your target and what's beyond before firing.
This match will observe a COLD RANGE. This means all firearms MUST be unloaded and either cased or holstered when not in use. Furthermore, there is NO HANDLING of firearms until it is your turn to shoot and the range safety officer gives you the "Load and Make Ready" command. Failure to follow this rule will result in a match disqualification.
If you need to inspect/clean your firearm, test your red dot, etc., you may do so at one of the designated safe areas. Bring your cased or holstered firearm (unloaded) to the safety area, then you may uncase/unholster it while keeping it pointed in a safe direction. Do not handle any ammo at the safety areas. (You may load magazines at any time anywhere EXCEPT the safety areas.)
If you have a CCW permit and you brought a loaded and holstered firearm to the range, that is fine. You will have the chance to safely unload it during the equipment check at sign-in.
While you are running through a course of fire you MUST follow the 180 rule (more info at https://www.idpanebraska.com/faq/), and ideally keep your gun pointed at the berm at all times including during reloads. Breaking the 180 will result in a match disqualification, as will firing any rounds over the berm. Keep your finger off the trigger while moving or reloading. Failure to do this will result in a warning on the first offense, and a match disqualification on the second.
