DESCRIPTION:Steel Challenge Matches Los Angeles\n1. All payments and release forms will be AT STEEL CHALLENGE. You do NOT have to stop at the lower public range office. Please bring exact change if possible.\n2. There will be a shooters' meeting promptly at 8:30am\n3. We will provide scoring tablets and timers with fresh batteries to each squad.\n4. Regular Monthly Steel Challenge Matches are the 2nd Saturday of every month. Scores will be posted to Practiscore by the end of the match day. All shooters who provide USPSA numbers will have their scores submitted to SCSA by Wednesday of match week and will affect classification.\n5. If you are a new shooter or new to Steel Challenge\, please let us know in the form below so we can squad you with an experienced RO and shooter.\n6. You will be able to squad online once your registration is accepted. Please keep in mind that we reserve the right to change your squad to even out squad sizes and provide assistance to new shooters.\nThis is an SCSA sanctioned\, Level I\, match with all eight of this year’s Steel Challenge Stages of fire. USPSA membership is not required to shoot this match but is required for SCSA classification. SCSA rules will apply. More details\, competition rules\, and stage configurations are available at https://scsa.org\nAny safe pistol or rimfire or PCC rifle in good condition from .22 to 45 ACP may be used (no magnum allowed). Please\, pistol caliber ammo only. Center fire pistols are shot from a holster located at the side or forward of the hip. No inside the waistband\, shoulder\, ankle\, or small of back holsters allowed. Rimfire pistols and rifles\, as well as pistol caliber carbines (PCC's)\, are shot from the low ready. If you are new to steel challenge and are not trained to safely draw from a holster\, you may fire a center fire pistol from the low ready to learn about Steel Challenge. Your scores\, however\, will not be reported.\nMandatory Equipment: Eye protection &\, hearing protection are mandatory for all shooters and spectators. Holster for centerfire pistols and revolvers\, chamber flag and gun bag for rimfire pistols or chamber flag and bag (or secured to cart gun rack) for rimfire rifles and PCC's. (Rimfire pistols\, though shot from low ready\, may be securely holstered).\nWe are a COLD RANGE. All weapons must be empty at all times until you are invited into the shooter's box and given the load and make ready command. At the end of each stage shoot\, you will demonstrate that your weapon is empty before flagging and bagging or holstering. No loaded guns may be carried during the match. A safety table may also be provided for unbagging and holstering guns. NO AMMO is permitted at the safety table. Breaking any safety rules or handling a firearm in an unsafe manner will result in disqualification and ejection from the competition range.\nRecommended gear: Water\, snacks\, sunblock and hat. Long pants are recommend (but not required) as steel tends to bounce shrapnel. At least 5 magazines and 300 rounds of Ammo is recommended.\nIf you've never shot a steel challenge match\, please be sure to tell us when you register and on match day. We will squad you with a mentor who can help be sure you have a safe and fun experience.\nCheck-in begins at 8:00 am.  There will be a shooters' meeting promptly at 8:30am and competition will begin by 8:45am. Please be on time so all squads can start simultaneously. Late arrivals will be squadded at the sole discretion of the match director.\nPrice is\n$40 for non-members\n$35 for any CTA member or shooter over 60 years of age\n$25 per person for any family of three or more\n$15 for each additional gun used in competition\nYearly Range Memberships are available at the public range office.
