SUMMARY:Harvard Steel Smashers - Ruger - GT Targets Falling Steel
DESCRIPTION:Registration opens 7AM March 14\, 2026\nHarvard Steel Smashers\, along with Ruger and GT targets\, is hosting a falling steel match on May 15th\, 16th and 17th at Harvard Sportsmen's Club.\nThere will be 6 stages 30-35 targets per stage\nThere will be 6 flights (You can only shoot 1 gun on each fligh. If you want to shoot multiple guns\, sign up\, pay\, and squad for each gun on separate flights).\nFriday May 15th\n1 PM start (Squads 111-116)\nSaturday May 16th\n9 AM start (Squads 201-206)\n1 PM start (Squads 211-216)\nSunday May 17th\n9 AM start (Squads 301-306)\n1 PM start (Squads 311-316)\n$50 per gun\n$25 per gun for ROs\nWhen registering\, check the box to volunteer to RO. If we are able to use you\, the difference will be refunded to you after the match. This is to prevent a squad with 12 RO's and a squad without any RO's.\nJrs shoot free at Harvard Steel Smashers (make sure you check jr < 18\, or preteen < 13 if these apply)\nSunday afternoon discount.\nIf you stay and help us tear down at the end of the match (until everything is put away) we will give you a $25 refund.\nT-Shirts:\nWe are doing T-shirts this year! One T-shirt per unique registered person (NOT PER GUN). Select your size on the first gun you register. A limited number of additional shirts will be available for purchase on a first come first serve basis. Since we need to place orders ahead of time\, you must sign up and pay by April 15th to guarantee you get your one T-shirt.\nMatch sponsored by\nRuger\nGT targets\nWe will be giving away several guns\nThis is a lost brass match !\nThis brass is for ROs and people that helped with the match. If you need or want brass and you helped\, come see me at any point and I will take care of you the best I can. Don’t just take it!\nSide Match:\nA side match will be run by and benefit Aiming for Zero.\nRules and Regulations\nThe following is a compiled list of rules and regulations regarding the falling steel competition held at Harvard Sportsmen's Club and are subject to change under the directions of the Match Director. Please be aware of the rules and ask questions if you are not sure.\nBasic Safety:\nWe run cold ranges at all times\, there is no handling of firearms at any time unless you are on the firing line and instructed to do so by a Range Officer or at a designated safe table.\nAll Firearms are to remain unloaded\, free of any ammo or magazines at all times unless you are on the firing line and instructed to load by the Range Officer.\nEye and Ear protection must be worn at all times\, whether shooting or not.\nFirearms may be bagged or holstered\nShooters may load from their belt or the provided table.\nShould a magazine be dropped during shooting\, any magazine that falls to the ground is considered dead and may not be retrieved until the firearm is cleared and deemed safe by the RO\, any magazine that falls on the table may be retrieved and used.\nThere is a 180 degree rule in effect while shooting which is to the back berm and extends to the left\, right\, up and down so watch your muzzle\nStart Position:\nShooters will start with no more than 10 rounds in the gun except in PCC\, Stock Auto Unlimited\, and  Open Unlimited division.\nShooter will be in a low ready position with the muzzle touching the provided table. Finger outside of the trigger guard.\nNo matter what you’re shooting pistol or rifle muzzle must touch the table to start\nHandgun: External safeties shall be engaged until the timer starts.\nPCC: Safety optional.\nShooter shall engage targets once the timer starts and continue until either finished\, par time expires\, ammo is expended or if the RO commands to do so. All targets must fall if a target bounces back up it is up to the RO to call it dead. Once completed\, shooter shall clear the firearm as instructed by RO\, drop magazine\, show clear chamber\, slide forward and drop hammer pointed at back berm. Once clear\, shooter will bag or holster the firearm.\nDivisions:\nStock Auto:\nIron sights only.\nInternal and external mods are allowed\nNo ported barrels\, no muzzle devices\, everything else is allowed\nMagazine capacity limit of 10 rounds per magazine\, no limit on overall length\nStock Auto Unlimited:\nIron sights only.\nInternal and external mods are allowed\nNo ported barrels\, no muzzle devices\, everything else is allowed\nNo limitations on magazine capacity\nOpen Auto:\nNo limitations other than 10 round capacity per magazine\nOpen Auto Unlimited:\nNo limitations on firearm or magazine capacity\nStock Revolver:\nIron sights only\nno ported barrels or muzzle devices\n8 round limit\nOpen Revolver:\nNo limitations on firearm other than 8 round limit\nPCC:\nMust be a pistol caliber limited to 9mm\, 40 or 45 acp\nNo limits on mods\, sights or magazine capacity\nDQs:\nIn the event of a Disqualifying event\, the MD shall be contacted and will make the determination if a DQ is to be issued. These actions may be but are not limited to: Accidental/ Negligent discharge\, unsafe gun handling\, 180 degree violation\, dropped firearm or unsportsmanlike conduct.\nResetting of Targets:\nOnce the Range Officer has declared the range safe\, all shooters except the finishing shooter and the on deck shooter shall assist in resetting of the steel targets and painting of the targets after the last shooter in the squad\, anyone failing to do their part shall be warned and or asked to leave and DQ’d for unsportsmanlike conduct.\nShooting is optional\, resetting is MANDATORY!!!\nThere will be random draw prizes from our vendors and we will be giving away several firearms.\nEmergency Procedures:\nShould any minor injuries occur\, we have first aid kits and first responders on site.\nShould a Emergency arise\, we call a ceasefire on all ranges and call 911\, when calling 911\, please state that there has been a training accident at Harvard Sportsmen's Club (we don’t need swat showing up if we say there was a gunshot victim)\nOnce the scene is cleared\, we will then proceed with the competition.\nSquadding Policy:\nWe will do our best to keep the squads as-is. However\, we reserve the right to move people to re-balance extremely unbalanced flights or provide RO’s.\nWithdraw Policy:\nStripe charges us processing fees so if you register and then withdraw it costs us money.\nIf you withdraw BEFORE 5/8/2026 at midnight\, we will refund your match fee -$2 (to cover fees)\nNO REFUNDS AFTER 5/8/2026 at midnight\nAny questions feel free to email Ramon at Steelchallenge1@gmail.com
