DESCRIPTION:The NRA America's Rifle Challenge (ARC) Program is a dynamic\, marksmanship-oriented\, firearms competition\, based on the AR-15 and/or other appropriate semi-automatic rifles. The NRA ARC program\, administered by the NRA's Competitive Shooting Division\, provides for several different levels of sanctioned matches\, Level 1 and Level 2\, as well as an ARC 2Gun event\, which incorporates semi-automatic handguns and is similar to ARC Level 2. The NRA ARC Program also provides a structured NRA ARC Training Course\, which is under development.\nNRA ARC L2 courses of fire are dynamic and generally require movement\, positional shooting\, shooting from props/barricades and test accuracy skills all under time limitations\nSchedule of events:\nMatch sign-in ends at 9:30 am\nMatch safety brief - 9:30 am\nMatch start - 10:00 am\nMatch Fee - $20 for members / $305 for non-members\nWhen you arrive at our range\, head to the Pro Shop and sign in\, and pay for the match. This means that all firearms must remain unloaded\, rifles slung or placed in carts with a chamber flag fully inserted INTO THE CHAMBER of the firearm unless under the direct supervision of an RO or safely handled while in a designated safe area or function fire area. Transport of firearms during a match - when moving any firearm from one location to another (such as stage to stage)\, the firearm will be COMPLETELY unloaded. SUMMARY:Hyatt Presents - July NC-ALPHAS-4 (NOT COWBOY)
DESCRIPTION:Match starts: July 18\, 2026 @ 10:00 AM · Match ends: July 18\, 2026 @ 4:00 PM\nLocation:\n783 Shooting Range Road\, Polkton\, NC 28135\nSchedule of events:\nMatch sign-in ends at 9:30 am\nMatch safety brief - 9:30 am\nMatch start - 10:00 am\nMatch Fee - $20 for members / $30 for non-members\nWhen you arrive at our range\, head to the Pro Shop and sign in\, and pay for the match. Then head down to the competition bays to be present for the safety briefing.\nAll participants are expected to assist with match teardown\n***A RIFLE SLING AND AN L2 RETENTION HOLSTER ARE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE ***\nThis is a close-quarters style shooting competition utilizing handguns\, rifles\, and shotguns. All engagements are presented at CQB distances. Rifle targets can be a mixture of steel and cardboard\, depending on distance. Pistol targets are Cardboard and static steel targets. Shotgun targets are steel knock-downs without springs. Pistol and rifle targets are of realistic size (~16” x 24”). Shotgun targets must be knocked down. Misses may be made up\, and there is no penalty for extra rounds placed on targets. Round Counts per stage can be between 10-20 for pistol\, 15-30 for rifle\, and 5-7 for shotgun. If you don't have or want to use a shotgun\, you may engage the shotgun targets with a pistol.\nThis sport provides for a vast number of different firearm options to engage the courses of fire. A course of fire (stage) will present a shooting problem that might have several creative solutions that require the employment of a handgun\, rifle\, and shotgun.\nCategories are based on the gear and equipment selected\, not weapons or competitor experience/shooting skill. This eliminates the need for “qualifier” stages and the possibility of “sand-bagging” for competitive advantage. This was chosen under the philosophy that all competitors can\, and should\, hone their skills to be faster and more precise combat shooters regardless of their skill level.\nThis is a close-quarters shooting sport. As such\, it is not meant to be a foot race or acrobatics contest. Movement\, shooting on the move\, and shooting positions are of tactical importance\, but in a close-quarters environment\, 25-yard sprints are not common occurrences and competitors are required to be rolling around in the mud. Short distances between shooting positions and negotiating obstacles/barriers while working a shooting problem are the goals. Nothing is intended to be of an extreme nature.\nFor more information\, please see the ALPHAS CQTAS Website: https://cqtas.net/\nIf you have any questions\, please call us (704) 826-6014 or email matchdirector@hyattshootingcomplex.com
