DESCRIPTION:22 Rimfire and Air guns only- Silhouette target shooting at the MPR. \nOffhand/Standing shooting at Metal Animal silhouettes with rifles or pistols\, open or scoped sights allowed. \nBenches are available during this practice period every Wednesday \nMembers of all 5 clubs are welcome.\n Fees are collected at the Multi Purpose Range\, not at the USI Clubhouse .\nThe MPR is the building on the right hand side as you pass the Public Range\, but before the Impalement Arts Range.\nLook for the red MPR flag on the flag post- that’s us!\n\nUSI waiver and a Blue Card issued from the USI clubhouse required prior to the match- there is no charge to these one time processes.\n\nA silhouette is a steel profile of an animal (chicken\, pig\, turkey\, or ram) standing on a pedestal. The object of the game is to knock as many silhouettes as possible off the stand\, shooting one round at each silhouette. It is a very simple competition\, with very simple scoring: Knocking an animal off its stand counts as a hit.\n\nAlthough silhouette is an easy game to learn\, it is not an easy game to master. The animals are rather small and the distances can reach out a bit; you must shoot offhand (standing); a moderate breeze can move a bullet or a pellet the width of an animal; your concentration becomes more difficult to hold as you knock down five in a row or with a close miss.  Silhouette is an endless challenge that makes you a better shooter!\nThis is a reoccurring event every Week- we intend to host this practice barring weather or extraordinary barriers preventing the event from occurring in a safe environment. DESCRIPTION:The Magpul Texas 3-Gun Championship has grown to be one of the premiere shooting events in the United States\, and that is due in large part to your dedication and passion. Every year we hear lots of compliments on the friendliness and professionalism of our staff\, and the results speak for themselves: the match sells out in just minutes\, and we will have over 100 shooters on the wait list. \nThings will operate this year much as they have in previous years. We will pay each of you $400 in travel reimbursement\, and will provide lunch each day of the match. Dinner will be provided on Saturday night as we give away the staff prizes. BBQ lunch will be served at the lakeside pavilion at the completion of shooting on Sunday. You will receive 3 match shirts to be worn during the event.\nAll staff prizes are given away via random draw. We keep scores during the staff match\, but they have no bearing on prizes\, so you don’t have to shoot the staff match to be eligible for prizes. \nYou are responsible for making your own lodging arrangements! DESCRIPTION:Who Can Participate:\nWickenburg Sportsmen’s Club Action Shooters Members & Guests\nUSPSA Members\nOnly one entry per competitor per match.\nMatch Format: Same as USPSA Level 1\nScoring: “Hit Factor” scoring\nPractice Match Format “SATURDAY STAGES WILL BE THE SAME AS WEDNSDAY STAGES”\nThe match will take place in two bays with different start positions for a total of four stages.\nStages: 4 or 5 stages (if a 5th stage it will be a classifier)\, approximately 120-round minimum\nMatch Schedule:\nStart Time: 8:00 A.M.\nSquads 1 & 2 begin at 8:00 A.M.\nIf only one squad\, the match will be shot in one bay. After the first stage is shot the squad by majority vote will declare how the stages 2\, 3 & 4 will be shot (moving targets\, reshoot\, different start positions\, etc.). The final stage we will remove “NO Shoots” and tighten up targets for a “hooser” stage.\nIf Squads 3 & 4 are needed\, a second-round start time will be 10:30 A.M.\nThe second-round start is currently experimental and may be canceled or absorbed into the earlier session if there are not enough shooters.\nRefund Policy:\nRefunds will be issued for withdrawals made more than 48 hours before the match.\nIf a waitlisted shooter fills your spot\, a refund will also be granted.\nRefunds will be issued minus any credit card processing fees incurred.\nNew Shooter Requirements:\nAll new shooters without a USPSA or IDPA classification must complete a New Shooter Orientation before participating.\nFirst-Time Shooters at Wickenburg Sportsmen’s Club: A short safety briefing is required.\nFirst-Time Match Shooters:\nMust complete a safety and introduction match\, including a walk-through of the rules with a mentor.\nFor their second match\, new shooters will be accompanied by a mentor and may participate in live fire if approved by a Range Safety Officer or mentor.\nSafety is our top priority. DESCRIPTION:Our “Firearm Foundations: Ladies Only” course is ideal for women who are inexperienced\, or completely new to shooting handguns.  Enjoy learning gun safety fundamentals\, basic operation\, and getting on target in a friendly and encouraging environment! \nThis Fun and Exciting 2-hour course focuses on: \n–Basic Firearms Safety \n–Getting familiar with the parts and operation of handguns \n–Gripping\, aiming\, stance and trigger press \n–Considerations for using a handgun \nThe first portion of class occurs in our classroom\, where participants will learn firearms safety rules\, parts of handguns\, and begin to learn how to shoot a handgun. \nWe spend the second half of the course on our private\, climate-controlled indoor range.  Here we preview five .22 LR handguns that are great for beginners.  Each participant will get to choose three to try! \nDO NOT BRING A FIREARM TO THIS CLASS–HANDGUNS ARE PROVIDED! \nIF SPOT IS RESERVED FOR A MINOR (UNDER 18) THEY MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT. DESCRIPTION:GHH Action Pistol Practice is an opportunity for shooters to practice their shooting skills\, test new equipment\, and have a good time. It is an excellent opportunity for shooters new to action shooting to give it a try before entering a match. This event intends to provide practice time for experienced competitive shooters by providing a variety of drills that build skills and speed. It also offers first-time competitors a stress-free\, friendly environment where they can learn about competitive shooting through practical application.\nNote this will be limited to 12 shooters.\nCompetitors must bring safety eyewear\, hearing protection\, a suitable firearm\, a sturdy belt\, a belt-mounted holster they feel comfortable drawing from\, enough magazines to carry 30 rounds\, and about 100 rounds of ammunition. It’s recommended that competitors bring magazine pouches but you’re also welcome to put spare magazines in your pockets if you don’t have magazine pouches. All Competitors are expected to demonstrate safe weapons handling at all times. Competitor check-in will begin at 5:00 pm at the 50 yd. range (indoor range if raining). DESCRIPTION:Target Sports Canada – Classifier night IDPA Match.\n**** PLEASE READ ****\nas last week was canceled\, we will have our classifier night this week\, April 8.\nThere are over 30 shooters we have to process and score. Please show up anytime between 5pm – 6:30 pm. As any other Wednesday night\, you are required to help patch and re-set the classifier stage to ensure we run on time and everyone has there opportunity to classify. If you show up early\, shoot your classifier\, and help patch several stages\, you may leave when asked by one of the Safety Officers.\nIF THIS IS YOUR FIRST CLASSIFIER\, PLEASE READ BELOW\nBelow is a Youtube video of what the classifier stage is\, please watch and understand it\, so you will be ready for Wednesday. \n\nSSP \, CO\, ESP\, CCP\, Divisions with 10 round magazines\, you will need a MINIMUM of 3 magazines.\n2 – magazines loaded with 10 rounds\n1 – magazine loaded with 5 rounds.\nBring extra ammo\nSee you all Wednesday\n* MATCH & SAFETY BRIEFING is a Mandatory Requirement for shooting the match.\n* If you are not present at the beginning of the Match & Safety Briefing\, you will not be allowed to shoot the Match.\n* Be courteous to the other competitors and match volunteers by being early and helpful throughout the match.\n* Competitors must bring a $5 bill for their match fee since we don’t offer changes.\n* Squad 1: Please report to the classroom by 5:30pm and help build the stages and gear up. The earlier we finish building the stages\, the earlier we can start and shoot more stages.\n* The classroom door will be locked by 6pm\, followed by Match & Safety Briefing.\n* Squad 2: Please report to the classroom by 7pm. All competitors must stay until the end of the match to help tear down\, put props back into the container and clean the range floor.
