SUMMARY:Bowling Pin Competition - Iron Sights (10/19/26)
DESCRIPTION:This is a handgun match that is a great way for those new to shooting competition to get started and for those with a lot of experience to show off in a tough competition. Why has shooting bowling pins taken off to the extent it has? Because it’s fun! Bowling pins are a dynamic target\, if you hit them off center they tend to fall down instead of going off the table. Once they’re lying down they’ll usually spin when hit on the ends instead of going off the table. These factors make the simple statement of “clear the table of 5 pins” more challenging than it sounds.\nHow to Play:\nQualifying Rounds\n-Shoot 3 separate strings of 5 pins (String is one iteration of 5 pins)\n-Your time is recorded and averaged\n-Averaged time places you into our bracketed “Knock Out Round”\nKnock Out Round\n-Matches are head to head\n-First shooter to knock off all 5 pins wins the round\n-Pins knocked over must be shot off the table onto the ground\n-If there is a tie between shooters that match will be shot again\n-All Knock Out Rounds are single elimination\nAmmunition:\n-Standard commercial and reloaded ammunition is permitted\n-Any type of ammunition designed for penetrating metal is not permitted\n-Only ammunition purchased at the SSEC may be used in a rental firearm\n-No steel jacketed\, steel shot or steel core bullets permitted\n-No tracer\, incendiary\, armor piercing\, gas or explosive ammunition is permitted\n-Center fire only\, .380\, 38 Special\, 9mm\, 40 and 45 calibers are allowed\nSuggested Equipment:\n1 firearm (Iron sights only. Red Dot sights may be used but are not eligible for awards)\n2 boxes of ammo\n3 magazines\nHearing and eye protection\nLong sleeve shirts and pants\n**Note\nCompetitors who wish to practice with a red dot in an iron sight competition may do so. These competitors will not be eligible to win the events and may be placed in a Red Dot specific bracket depending upon registration numbers.

SUMMARY:Sharpshooters IDPA October
DESCRIPTION:IDPA Level 1 indoor match. 2 bays with 4-5 (+) stages. 30 shooter max. Around 150 round count. Pay at the front counter then head downstairs for the safety meeting starting at 6pm.\nShooters need a handgun\, holster (quality strong side only)\, mag pouches (2)\, magazines (3) or revolves with loading devices. Belt\, close toed shoes. This is a IDPA match with the current IDPA rule book. If you come with non IDPA gear you will be given a penalty each stage after your first match. If you have questions on this please reach out to us. All IDPA matches\, as of right now the Sig Sauer P320 in all models and variants are banned for these matches. \nIDPA Match Rules \n\nIf we get 30 shooters signed up the day of the match we will run two squads. With this comes some musts. We will need people to run the timer\, tablet and all shooters will have to paste for all shooters. A 15 shooters squad\, minus SO\, score keeper\, the shooter\, shooter that just got done\, shooter on deck\, shooter in the hole and the shooter in crevice will not be pasting and just be ready or getting ready. That means there should be 7 shooters minimum pasting targets and resetting the stage. With 2 squads you will also be needed to reset the bay into the next stage as we are the ones that do this with one squad. It requires everyone to support this. If not we will go back to one squad and 25-30 shooters.\nWe will have a waitlist of shooters that will get approved in order of sign up.\nWe need help taking the stages down and over to the garage. If you leave early and don't help out at all you will be talked to about it. If it happens again then you will be told to not come back until you can agree to this request.\nI want to make everyone a better shooter\, from matches\, drill nights\, SO\, to helping out. All this will make you a better shooter!
