SUMMARY:TFR - 2026-09-20 - The Freedom Ranch - Long Gong/TFS KYL Challenge
DESCRIPTION:*The Long Gong match will start at 10 am every 3rd Sunday of the month\, starting August 2026.  Gates open at 8 am for sight in.\n22lr only.  Front bipod/bag and rear bag only.  300 yards\, 8” (one point) 6” (2 points) and 4” (3 points) round steel gongs at 300 yards.  Hit to move\, miss you go back one plate.  Five rounds of 10 shots.\nWe have two racks and two benches.\n*Running at the same time will be The Freedom Shack KYL Challenge.  Additional $10 entry fee.  The Freedom Shack KYL Challenge is going to be run side-by-side with the Long Gong Match. This match consists of TWO KYL racks that go from 2" to 1/4" (8 targets per rack). One rack at 50 yards and one rack at 100 yards. The Challenge is hit to move. One string on each rack of 10 shots. To clean this challenge you have to shoot each target once and the 1/4" at the end a total of 3 times. The entry fee is $10\, 50% will be paid back to anyone who CLEANS BOTH RACKS. This is very hard to do and has not been done to date. The 50% if NOT paid out will be saved and rolled over to the next match until we have a winner\, so the pot grows each month. The winner also gets a very cool gold challenge coin I've had made\, winner meaning you've cleaned BOTH racks\, 20 shots straight.

It should be noted that these counts are rounded above what you will explicitly need if you shot the match without a single miss\, but bringing these amounts should keep give you some wiggle room should you be less than perfectly accurate. We will be using bays 2-5\,with a max range of 50 yards.\nAll firearms must be OIC compliant. It is recommended you watch the Brandon Wildlife Association Facebook page to keep updated.\nThe match will begin at 9:00 A.M. on Sunday with final registration\, squading and payment open until 9:30 A.M. Match brief will be at 9:30 A.M. with stage walk-throughs and shooting by 10:00 A.M.\nSet up for the match will be Saturday evening starting at 5:00 P.M.\, and if you could bring a drill it would be appreciated. Bring your unloaded gun to the match in a case or bag.\nB. Handle your gun only at one of these two approved times:\n1.	When in the marked safety areas. These areas are where you transfer the gun from your bag or case to your holster at the start of the match\, and where you return it to your bag or case when you are finished with the match.\n2.	When explicitly authorized by the RO when it is your turn to shoot a stage. You are allowed to handle your gun beginning with the “Make Ready “ command and ending with the “Range Is Clear” command.\nC. Do not bring ammunition into the safety areas.\nD. Guns are to be unloaded with no magazines in them at all times except for when you are the shooter and have been given the “Make Ready “ command. After the “Range Is Clear” command you are again subject to the unloaded gun requirement.
