(The course has been set up so that all lanes can be active at the same time.)\nEquipment & Personal Kit\nRifles: 22LR rifle with 22LR standard velocity ammo OR air rifle in 17\, 22\, or 25 caliber.\nAmmo: The course of fire requires a minimum of about 100 rounds\, but you must hit every target twice\, so bring lots! For air rifles\, if you have an auxiliary air tank\, bring it.\nClasses: There will be three classes: 22LR rifle semi-auto\, manually operated 22LR and air rifle.\nBinoculars: Adequate for spotting shots when you are the scorer.\nWriting and Note-Taking Materials: Adequate for filling out scorecards.\nElectronic hearing protection and safety glasses are required.\nPersonal Supplies: The match is conducted on bush trails\, with uneven terrain. You'll need good footwear\, long pants\, and a long-sleeved shirt. Clothing needs to be loose-fitting so you can adopt the required shooting positions. You'll need protection from sun and biting insects. Bring your own lunch and plenty of water plus some electrolyte beverage. There'll be some walking involved\, so you'll want a backpack or something similar. Check the weather forecast for the day - we'll plan to conduct the practice no matter the weather\, so be prepared.\nAdministration\nWe'll start at "The Thou"\, where you will park. Plan to be there at 0930 for check-in\, zero confirmation\, safety briefing\, and group assignment. You must be present for safety briefing\, or you will not be allowed to shoot. We plan to be shooting by 1000 hours. NOTE: There may be other groups using our other ranges... they should be well clear by the time you arrive\, but be sure to follow the signs (not other travelers) on the road.\n$50.00 for non-members. $25.00 off for OSA members and OSA affiliate members. If you're under 18\, register as a junior.\nWaivers: You will be required to sign a liability waiver as part of registering for the event on PractiScore. You are required to belong to an organization that covers you with liability insurance (such as the CSSA\, CCFR\, NFA\, or similar).\nYou must be fluent in English to participate in any OSA event.\nNote that we no longer allow photographs to be taken on MilCun property.

SUMMARY:Range Dojo
DESCRIPTION:Renaissance Shooting Club\n22633 Farm to Market 1774\, Plantersville TX\, 77363\nRange Dojo Overview:\nRange Dojo is a continuous training program focused on safe firearm handling\, practical marksmanship\, movement\, and becoming more comfortable and capable with your equipment under stress. The goal is to provide experienced shooters with a structured and positive environment where they can regularly challenge themselves\, identify areas for improvement and continue building skills.\nShooters should expect physical activity\, including movement between positions\, getting up and down from the ground\, carrying equipment\, and working through a variety of shooting positions and courses of fire.\nEvents generally consist of 3–5 stages\, with shooters having the opportunity to run stages 2–3 times. Most stages are untimed and run one shooter at a time\, although some may include team-based exercises or time scoring.\nRange Dojo is designed around the idea of continuous improvement rather than competition. Shooters may use a rifle or PCC along with a sidearm and are encouraged to bring the gear they normally use or want to train. Each event provides an opportunity to safely test yourself and equipment outside of a traditional static range environment.\nExperience & Safety\nRange Dojo is intended for experienced shooters who already have a strong foundation in firearm safety and weapon handling. Participants should be comfortable handling their firearms independently and have prior experience with dynamic or run-and-gun style shooting. You do not need to be an expert or competitive shooter\, but Range Dojo is NOT intended as an introduction to shooting or firearms fundamentals. All participants must be able to safely and confidently follow RSO instructions throughout the event.\nIf you're interested but aren't sure whether you're ready to participate\, you're welcome to visit an event\, observe\, and speak with the RSO about what to expect.\nRequired Equipment\nRifle or PCC\nPistol\nOWB retention holster\nSling for rifle/PCC\nApproximately 100+ rounds for rifle and pistol\nAt least 3 magazines for your pistol / rifle\nRecommended\n• Your normal kit/gear - Carriers\, Helmets\, Chest Rigs all ok\, this is a great testing environment for new kit or setups.\n• Water/hydration\n• Clothing and footwear appropriate for outdoor physical activity\nAbove everything else\, safety comes first. Participants are expected to take firearm safety seriously\, follow RSO direction\, and look out for one another while still having a good time and challenging themselves.

SUMMARY:Modern Carry Federation - September 13 Match
DESCRIPTION:SUMMER HOURS TO BEAT THE HEAT - MATCH IS STARTING AT 8AM NOW!\nI am turning this concealed match into its own league called Modern Carry Federation. You can find the website with the rules at:\nmoderncarryfederation.org\nIt will be held on the Sunday immediately following the SLPSA USPSA #1 match. Stages will be reused from the main SLPSA USPSA match\, making for a fun and accessible way to test your concealed carry skills.\nThe match will follow all USPSA safety rules\, and use hit factor scoring. All Big Salty Range rules apply.\nQuick summary if you don't want to read the website rulebook:\n-------------------- Rules --------------------\nAll competitors must be shooting from holstered concealment. This means that gear such as holsters\, firearms\, and spare magazines must be hidden from view and carried in a realistic\, practical manner. Bagged/off body carry is not allowed at this time due to the potential for DQ issues. Holsters that severely break the 180 (such as shoulder holsters or holsters with extreme cant) are not allowed.\nThe spirit of this match is real-world concealment\, so we are requiring IWB holsters. This is to prevent people from running things they don't actually wear\, like IDPA-style "gamer vests" with OWB. If you genuinely carry OWB\, it will be allowed if the MD determines it does not violate the spirit of the match. I have never once turned away anyone running their real world OWB rig. Please validate with the MD ahead of time if you have any concerns.\nIt is entirely at the discretion of the MD to determine if you meet the intent of the match! If the MD sees shenanigans\, you can be moved to shooting for no score (with no recourse)\, or disallowed from further match participation.\nWe highly encourage people to run their actual carry setups to see how they perform.\n-------------------- Divisions --------------------\nMinimum caliber is .380 ACP. While we would like to accommodate those brave souls that carry .25 ACP pop guns\, it just isn't practical from a match management perspective. Perhaps in the future we can have a backup gun division\, but for now it is .380 or higher.\nThe divisions are all capacity-based with no other accessory restrictions. So feel free to run your carry gun with a comp\, port\, thumb rest\, magwell\, optics\, irons\, etc. Holster-capable PDWs like the P365 Raider are allowed\, provided you are IWB with it in a manner you would actually carry.\n- Small Cap - 8 max rounds in the magazine (or cylinder). Represents your smaller carry guns or revolvers. In order to help low cap be competitive and not need a huge amount of spare mags to reload\, small cap division hits are scored as a 2x the hit\, e.g.\, one alpha becomes two alphas. So you typically only need one hit per target.\n- Factory Cap - 18 max rounds in the magazine. Represents your traditional factory capacity magazines.\n- Modern Cap - 25 max rounds in the magazine. Represents the growing capacity of modern carry setups.\nAll questions or comments can be directed to the Match Director Rory Norman at admin@slpsa.org.\nSUNDAY\n7:00 AM - Range Open\, function fire can be done in an empty bay under the direction of an RO.\n7:00 AM - Staple fresh targets\, help with stage changes if any are needed.\n7:30 AM - New shooter brief. As it is concealed only\, this match requires a higher level of skill and attention to safety\, so if you are a totally new shooter this might not be the right environment to start at. That said\, we will have a new shooter brief for anyone who needs it\, likely in Cemetery Bay. Refer to the new shooter brief on the website if needed (https://slpsa.org/new-shooter-help/)\n8:00 AM - All Shooter Meeting\n8:15 AM - First shots (after the shooter meeting has concluded)\n12:00 PM - Approximate end of match. Empty trash\, take down all paper targets.
