DESCRIPTION:22LR Falling Steel Match at Sharpshooters Indoor Range (Cold Range\, make sure all firearms are completely empty before coming in the store).\nA head-to-head match where 2 shooters compete to knock down five 6"x 8" steel plates from their respective sides\, using only 22LR Rifles or Pistols\, 10 rounds max. They are usually conducted as a double-elimination match with one-time buy-ins for $5 up to the 3rd round. New shooters will shoot at least 3 times. If there are fewer than 16 entries\, we may go to triple elimination with no buy-ins. Pairing is randomized as much as possible\, but repeat pairings will occur. There are 2 separate divisions\, Rimfire Rifle and Rimfire Pistol (any sighting system). A free match pass is presented to each division winner. Sponsored shooters are not eligible. All scores will be posted on the Upstate Sport Shooting Group FB page. Minimum Equipment: Rifle must have a safety flag\, 2 mags loaded to 10\, eye and ear protection. Pistol in a safely secured container (Holster\, Range Tray\, Range Bag\, or zippered gun rug)\, 2 mags loaded to 10\, eye and ear protection.\nYou may sign up for 2 divisions. There will be a $5 fee for a second division.\nIf the shooters tie in their round\, they will be loaded up with another 10 rds to break the tie. If all plates are knocked down in a tie\, 2 plates will be set up for each shooter to resolve the tie. This will require you being at the match  1 to 1.5 hours prior to the match.\n1Gun is designed to combine the well liked aspects from the different shooting sports\, with dynamic stages and simpler rules. While we fully understand no game can ever prepare one for a real world defensive situation\, we are just trying to build on basic skills that one should have; by rewarding quick\, accurate shooting with the ability to think on the fly. To do this\, we combined standards\, mission based\, and run-n-gun type stages with a more dynamic experience that requires the shooter to adapt vs replay a rehearsed stage plan.\nBlind coin flips are done during the stage reset\, hidden under a cup\, revealing the threat target color after the starting beep\, produces dynamic stages. By the pure definition of dynamic stages\, we are saying the stage is not the same for each shooter. This is okay\, and is by design. Stages will be designed to be fair\, not exact or symmetrical. In other words\, every effort will be placed on keeping the shooting complexity similar\, regardless of which color threat is drawn. But depending on your strengths and or weaknesses\, the luck of the draw could be the equalizer. But with that said\, we believe that these slight differences balance out by the end of the match and the benefits of creating a more dynamic experience\, far out weighs any little differences.\nWe will be using the 1Gun v1.1 rulebook for this match.  You can find the rulebook on the 1Gun website ( https://1gun.org ).\nSAFETY NOTES:\n1. Eye and ear protection must be worn by everyone (competitors and spectators) while participating or viewing events.\n2. The qualifying divisions for the National Championship are as follows:\n-Elite Men’s and Women’s: The top three M/W competitors will re required to submit to drug testing. A separate email will be sent that will include an acknowledgment of testing and a release.\n-Tactical Men’s and Women’s\n-Masters 40+ Men’s and Women’s\n-Masters 50+ Men’s and Women's\n-Masters 60+ Men's\n-Masters (Team Events Only)\n-Womens (Team Events Only)\nIf an athlete or athletes in the top five have previously qualified for that year’s National Championship\, the space will drop down to fill up to five qualification spots per event.\nIf all of the registered competitors in a division elect to allow an athlete to compete in their division that has not qualified it will be approved.\nTeam Event Process:\nIf a team finishes in the Top Five in a qualifying division in a team event\, both team members will qualify.\nIn the case of a Masters team\, you will qualify for the division that is appropriate for your age at the time of that year’s National Championship.\nIn the case of a Women's team\, the athlete will qualify for the Tactical Division at the National Championship\, unless the athlete is over 40 years of age\, they will then qualify for the Masters division.\nPlease note: you will not be "Approved To Shoot" until the week leading up to the match.
