SUMMARY:NRL22 Canada - Sherwood Park Fish and Game in Alberta - Oct COF on October 17 2026
DESCRIPTION:The NRL22 is a fun and cost effective way to get into precision rifle shooting! The group at SPFGA are easy-going and more than happy to welcome both new- and guest-shooters.\nThis is a .22lr event shooting off of various barricades and props\, at target sizes ranging from .25" to 6" at varying distances.\nGear requirements: .22lr (bolt-action or semi-auto) with a detachable box magazine with 1 magazine\, 2 would be preferred. A magnified optic is not required\, though is strongly recommended.\n!!!!!!!! New for 2025 at Sherwood Park Fish & Game NRL22 events !!!!!!!!\nThere will be an extra practice stage set up\, in addition to the five from that month’s course of fire. This stage is intended for new competitors\, and those still learning the ropes alike\, to practice fundamentals before the match begins. If you intend to make use of this practice stage\, please plan to be at the range for 9:00am (an hour before the match begins)\, and notify one of the match director’s in advance to ensure your access to the facilities. Additionally\, we understand there is an element of intimidation to those first few matches\, and we encourage potentially shy shooters not to worry this community is very helpful and you are in great company to learn.\nNo rifle\, no ammo? No problem! We understand that this is an expensive shooting sport to begin with\, and acquiring gear up front can be intimidating and costly. We are able to provide a loaner rifle\, supplementary ammunition and any other necessary gear for first-time shooters. We are happy to offer this for the first few matches for new shooters\, though please do not abuse our charity! If you will require a loaner rifle\, please contact one of the match director’s in advance.\n-8:00am: match setup (feel free to show up early and pitch in!)\n-9:00am: Match briefing and zero\n-10:00am: monthly NRL22 match begins\n-matches will proceed rain or shine\, unless otherwise notified\n-Round count: 75 minimum\n-Safety equipment: hearing protection and chamber flag\n-Note: Non-members must pay a once-per-day $25 guest fee to access the SPFGA property. Card only\, please DO NOT bring cash.\n-Match directors:\n-Lowell Niven (lowellniven@hotmail.com)\n-Todd Laughlin (todd.laughlin@hotmail.com)\nMonthly Course of Fire can be found here: https://nrl22canada.ca/\nHope to see you at the match\, come see what your .22 can do!

SUMMARY:CPS Tactical 2 Gun October 2026
DESCRIPTION:Tactical 2 Gun (T2G) is a Multigun match that uses Time Plus scoring to test shooting\, firearm handling\, tactics\, and gear. These matches emphasize the “practical” in practical shooting sports. While “race” gear is welcome\, these matches are designed around and encourage the wearing of full kit. Stages focus on plausible\, real-world tactical scenarios. Penalties are stiff\, so striking the balance between accuracy and speed is essential.\nNew shooters should read through the Tactical 2 Gun (T2G) rulebook linked below prior to match day: \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n\nTypical round count is 150 primary\, 75 secondary. However\, due to the nature of T2G match rules\, round counts can vary wildly. We strongly suggest bringing double the typical round count.\nSetup begins at 8:30AM. Please arrive at that time and help us build stages. Safety briefing begins immediately after setup.\n==============================\nWhile T2G matches are open to the public\, they are NOT suitable for net new shooters. The manipulations required and stage scenarios simulated make these matches best suited to experienced competitors. If you're unsure of your qualifications\, contact match admins linked in the above rulebook. We will begin the night match as close to 6:00 p.m. as possible but we do need it to be reasonably dark so that you need your flashlight to shoot the dark stages. Regardless of when we start\, we will need to be done shooting at 10:00 p.m. (which should not be a problem) due to local ordinances. Be sure to bring additional batteries for your flashlight and additional lighting (i.e. head lamps\, shop lights\, etc.) to help reset the stages. Gun mounted flashlights are permissible for all shooters. IDPA members using a gun mounted light must have it attached to the gun the entire match. You’ll probably want to bring 250 - 300 rounds just to be safe though the actual round count will be around 198.
