SUMMARY:NRL22 Canada - Sherwood Park Fish and Game in Alberta - Dec COF on December 19 2026
DESCRIPTION:The NRL22 is a fun and cost effective way to get into precision rifle shooting! The group at SPFGA are easy-going and more than happy to welcome both new- and guest-shooters.\nThis is a .22lr event shooting off of various barricades and props\, at target sizes ranging from .25" to 6" at varying distances.\nGear requirements: .22lr (bolt-action or semi-auto) with a detachable box magazine with 1 magazine\, 2 would be preferred. A magnified optic is not required\, though is strongly recommended.\n!!!!!!!! New for 2025 at Sherwood Park Fish & Game NRL22 events !!!!!!!!\nThere will be an extra practice stage set up\, in addition to the five from that month’s course of fire. This stage is intended for new competitors\, and those still learning the ropes alike\, to practice fundamentals before the match begins. If you intend to make use of this practice stage\, please plan to be at the range for 9:00am (an hour before the match begins)\, and notify one of the match director’s in advance to ensure your access to the facilities. Additionally\, we understand there is an element of intimidation to those first few matches\, and we encourage potentially shy shooters not to worry this community is very helpful and you are in great company to learn.\nNo rifle\, no ammo? No problem! We understand that this is an expensive shooting sport to begin with\, and acquiring gear up front can be intimidating and costly. We are able to provide a loaner rifle\, supplementary ammunition and any other necessary gear for first-time shooters. We are happy to offer this for the first few matches for new shooters\, though please do not abuse our charity! If you will require a loaner rifle\, please contact one of the match director’s in advance.\n-8:00am: match setup (feel free to show up early and pitch in!)\n-9:00am: Match briefing and zero\n-10:00am: monthly NRL22 match begins\n-matches will proceed rain or shine\, unless otherwise notified\n-Round count: 75 minimum\n-Safety equipment: hearing protection and chamber flag\n-Note: Non-members must pay a once-per-day $25 guest fee to access the SPFGA property. Card only\, please DO NOT bring cash.\n-Match directors:\n-Lowell Niven (lowellniven@hotmail.com)\n-Todd Laughlin (todd.laughlin@hotmail.com)\nMonthly Course of Fire can be found here: https://nrl22canada.ca/\nHope to see you at the match\, come see what your .22 can do!

Up to 4 magazines may be utilized on a single stage\, and your favorite mag retention system is encouraged. We do not impose limitations on firearms; all calibers and legal equipment is welcome. Green tip or steel core ammunition is not permitted for use on steel targets. Optics are shooters choice\, iron sights\, red-dots\, and magnified optics are all welcome. Practical Rifle is a great opportunity to gain experience with all your gear!\n**NOTE: We operate a "cold range" and rifles are required to be unloaded in a case or cart\, with a chamber flag inserted at all times.\nAll skill levels are welcome\, and we always welcome new shooters!\nRegistration fees are non-refundable\, except in the event of match cancellation.\n*****Squadding*****\nClick "View Squadding" below to see if there are open spots in the squad of your choice. Only register if you are happy with squadding availability. After you register\, you will be sent a link to squad yourself. You have the ability to change your squad up until the day before the match (based on available spots).

SUMMARY:CPS Tactical 2 Gun December 2026
DESCRIPTION:Tactical 2 Gun (T2G) is a Multigun match that uses Time Plus scoring to test shooting\, firearm handling\, tactics\, and gear. These matches emphasize the “practical” in practical shooting sports. While “race” gear is welcome\, these matches are designed around and encourage the wearing of full kit. Stages focus on plausible\, real-world tactical scenarios. Penalties are stiff\, so striking the balance between accuracy and speed is essential.\nNew shooters should read through the Tactical 2 Gun (T2G) rulebook linked below prior to match day: \n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \nTypical round count is 150 primary\, 75 secondary. However\, due to the nature of T2G match rules\, round counts can vary wildly. We strongly suggest bringing double the typical round count.\nSetup begins at 8:30AM. Please arrive at that time and help us build stages. Safety briefing begins immediately after setup.\n==============================\nWhile T2G matches are open to the public\, they are NOT suitable for net new shooters. The manipulations required and stage scenarios simulated make these matches best suited to experienced competitors. If you're unsure of your qualifications\, contact match admins linked in the above rulebook. Observers are always welcomed.\nEvent Requirements:\n• ALL Attendees – Registration is now required for CPS events at the provided registration link. Everyone must attend the safety brief. No exceptions.\n• If you just want to observe the event\, simply show up and sign the Liability Waiver in the CPS Office. If you have any questions\, please contact the Match Director.\nOther Info:\n• Gate Code - Gate event code is emailed to the registered attendees the night before or morning of the event.\n• Directions – Posted on the COSSA website.

SUMMARY:Flagstaff Action Shooters Steel Challenge for December
DESCRIPTION:Ready for a challenge? A STEEL CHALLENGE! The most fun you can have with a gun legally.\n*** Winter Hours return ***\nCHECK-IN 30 minutes before the match Saturday\, at Camp Savage. Shooters need to sign the waiver\, pay the match fee\, and prepare for the match. Come an hour earlier to help with setup.... You must be present for the safety briefing to participate.\nThe match will be at Prevail Training Center\, and the fee will be $15 for FAS members\, $25 for non-members. Membership is $50 per year. Kids shoot free. This is payable at the range\, cash or check. We do NOT use PractiScore membership.\nDirections to Prevail Training Center: http://flagstaffactionshooters.org/location\nEye and ear protection are required\, even for spectators\, and you must be present at the safety briefing at the start of the match to participate. All shooters and observers must sign a waiver.\nWe operate under cold range rules. Do not exit your vehicle with a loaded weapon. The only time we handle firearms is at a "safe table" (without ammo)\, or at the at the firing line under the direction of a safety officer. Firearms remain unloaded until the safety officer directs the participant to "make ready."\nDue to the unique nature of the Steel Challenge\, drawing from concealment or from inside the waist band is not allowed. Also\, no SERPA or other trigger finger release holsters (unless permanently disabled and allowed by the match director or range master).\nPlan on a total round count of ~100\, many of us bring 200 rounds to be safe (or because we miss a lot).\nThis is a rimfire friendly sport. This is a beginner friendly sport. Players must use our supplied gun with no added enhancements.\nThe gun may be shot one handed or two-handed at the shooters discretion. No shooting rests\, no scopes\, no painting of the sights.\nAll hands will have a fourty-five (45) second par time.\nAll shooters will flip a coin to determine the orientation of the target\, i.e. red wild card up or black wild card up.\nWILDCARDS WILL NOT BE USED FOR SCORING\n3. Players will fire 7 shots at the target placed seven (7) yards from the shooting position which will be marked by a rubber baseball plate. Shooter must have both feet touching the shooting plate(s) and all hands will begin from the low-ready position. (pointed at an orange traffic cone)\nAll hands will have a fourty-five (45) second par time.\n4. Players will make their best 5 card poker hand from the cards hit.\nWILDCARDS WILL NOT BE USED FOR SCORING\n5. Target-style scoring will be used. In other words\, if the shot hits the edge of a card clearly breaking the line\, it will count as a hit on the card.\n6. A card can only be counted once per hand (target).\n7. Any shots that hit the colored center cards\, or break the line of the colored center cards will count as wild cards. Wild card and joker cards will carry no scoring weight. A hit on a wild card or joker card is not counted towards any hand.\n8. If a shot breaks the line of more than one card\, the card containing the largest portion of the hit shall be counted.\n9. If a card has 2 or more hits and one of the hits breaks the line of another card\, then that hit may be counted on the other card.\n10. If less than 7 cards are hit\, the hand must be made from the cards hit. No additional shots may be taken.\n11. If more than 7 hits are found on a target\, it will be disqualified and no refund will be given.\n12. Shooting at a used target will be cause for disqualification.\n13. The shooters/players must print their name on the target and identify the 5 cards that make up their hand. The card hand must be written out under the shooters name.\n14. Hands will be scored in accordance with the rankings shown below.\n15. In the case of a tie\, the tiebreaker hands will be shot free of charge to the player(s) using the same rules as above. Tiebreaker hands will be shot at progressively longer distances until a winner is determined\,\n16. Gun malfunctions\, dud-rounds or other circumstances that cause less than seven (7) rounds to be fired at the target will be given the opportunity to be made up. Round for round will be made up. i.e. no complete reshoots unless the target is spoiled by more than seven rounds.\nTARGET DISTANCES\nInitial Poker Match: 7-yards (21 feet)\n1st Tiebreaker Round: 14-yards (42 feet)\n2nd Tiebreaker Round: 21-yards (63 feet)\n3rd Tiebreaker Round: 28-yards (84 feet)\n4th Tiebreaker Round: 50-yards (150 feet)\nRanking of Poker Hands\nStraight Flush. Five cards in sequence in the same suit are called a straight flush. A hand composed of A-K-Q-J-10 (royal flush) beats a hand composed of K-Q-J-10-9. The royal flush is the highest standard hand and beats all other hands.\nFour of a Kind. Any four cards of the same rank form four of a kind. If two players have four of a kind\, the hand with the four higher cards wins. Four of a kind beats a full house or any lower hand.\nFull House. Three of a kind and one pair form a full house. The full house with the highest ranking three of a kind beats another full house with a lower-ranking three of a kind. Full house beats a flush or any lower hand.\nFlush. A hand of any five cards all of the same suit is called a flush. A flush with the highest ranking card beats another flush hand. If the highest cards from each players hand tie\, the next highest-ranking cards determine the winner\, and so on. A flush beats a straight or any lower hand.\nStraight. A hand of any five cards in sequence\, but not of the same suit is a straight. The straight with the highest-ranking cards at the head of the sequence is the winner against another straight hand. The highest possible straight is A-K-Q-J-10. A straight beats three of a kind or any\nlower hand.\nThree of a Kind. Three cards of the same rank\, such as three 8s\, form three of a kind. The highest-ranking three cards wins against another three of a kind hand. Three of a kind beats two pair or any lower hand.\nTwo Pair. Two cards of the same rank and two cards of any other rank form two pair. The hand with the highest-ranking pair wins against another hand of two pair. If the highest-ranking pair ties\, the hand with the second highest ranking pair wins. If the all pairs in both hands tie\, the hand with the highest ranking fifth card wins. Two pair beats any hand with one pair\, or no pair.\nOne Pair. Any two cards of the same rank form one pair. The hand with the highest-ranking pair wins against another hand of one pair. If both hands have the same pair\, the highest-ranking unmatched card in the hand determines the winner. If the highest- ranking unmatched cards tie\, the next highest-ranking unmatched cards are compared\, and so on.\nOne pair beats any hand with no pair (high card).\nHigh Card. A hand with no matched cards is called high card. With two competing high card hands\, the hand with the highest-ranking card wins. If the highest-ranking unmatched cards tie\, the next highest-ranking unmatched cards are compared\, and so on.\nRules for Aces. In a straight\, the ace can rank either high or low\, depending on the card sequence. The ace is high in the sequence A-K-Q-J-10. Aces rank low in the sequence 5-4-3-2-A. You cannot use the ace to wrap a lower sequence with a higher sequence\, such as 3-2-A-K-Q.\nWILDCARDS WILL NOT BE USED FOR SCORING
