DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Long Gong at the Tonto Rim Sports Club\nAll you need is a scoped .22LR rifle\, a bipod and separate rear bag. And 50 rounds of ammo.\nWe’ll supply three gong targets: 8"\, 6"\, and 4"\nYou shoot from the bench\, and the targets are 300 yards down range.\nThe object is to score as many points as possible with those 50 rounds. You get 1 point for each hit on the 8"\, 2 points for the 6"\, and 3 points for each hit on the 4" steel gong.\nSince this is a risk/reward competition\, you shoot for the 8" first\, and if you hit it\, you may move to the 6". Hit that\, and you can move on to the 4". A miss on the 6" or 4" means that you move back to the previous gong\, and must hit it before moving on. Each competitor shoots 5 10-round sets\, with the maximum possible score of 27 for each set (1+2+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3) and 135 total for the match.\nIt's a game so simple a child can play; so challenging even the best shooters will never perfect it\, and to top it all off\, it’s highly addictive!\nCome join us for a Long Gong match on the 3rd Sunday of each month\, at the Tonto Rim Sports Club’s Jim Jones Shooting Range.\nNon-members welcome. SUMMARY:TFR - 2026-09-20 - The Freedom Ranch - Long Gong/TFS KYL Challenge
DESCRIPTION:*The Long Gong match will start at 10 am every 3rd Sunday of the month\, starting August 2026.  Gates open at 8 am for sight in.\n22lr only.  Front bipod/bag and rear bag only.  300 yards\, 8” (one point) 6” (2 points) and 4” (3 points) round steel gongs at 300 yards.  Hit to move\, miss you go back one plate.  Five rounds of 10 shots.\nWe have two racks and two benches.\n*Running at the same time will be The Freedom Shack KYL Challenge.  The Freedom Shack KYL Challenge is going to be run side-by-side with the Long Gong Match. This match consists of TWO KYL racks that go from 2" to 1/4" (8 targets per rack). One rack at 50 yards and one rack at 100 yards. The Challenge is hit to move. One string on each rack of 10 shots. To clean this challenge you have to shoot each target once and the 1/4" at the end a total of 3 times. The entry fee is $10\, 50% will be paid back to anyone who CLEANS BOTH RACKS. This is very hard to do and has not been done to date. The 50% if NOT paid out will be saved and rolled over to the next match until we have a winner\, so the pot grows each week. The winner also gets a very cool gold challenge coin I've had made\, winner meaning you've cleaned BOTH racks\, 20 shots straight.

It should be noted that these counts are rounded above what you will explicitly need if you shot the match without a single miss\, but bringing these amounts should keep give you some wiggle room should you be less than perfectly accurate. We will be using bays 2-5\,with a max range of 50 yards.\nAll firearms must be OIC compliant. It is recommended you watch the Brandon Wildlife Association Facebook page to keep updated.\nThe match will begin at 9:00 A.M. on Sunday with final registration\, squading and payment open until 9:30 A.M. Match brief will be at 9:30 A.M. with stage walk-throughs and shooting by 10:00 A.M.\nSet up for the match will be Saturday evening starting at 5:00 P.M.\, and if you could bring a drill it would be appreciated. DESCRIPTION:This is a match designed to be shot with your daily carry handgun. It is designed to give you practice for dealing with a critical incident. This is not a long-range shoot. All paper targets will be "up close and personal". Steel targets will be large and properly placed to avoid splash back.\nEquipment needed: One handgun - 380 or larger\, a holster that is concealed and covers the trigger guard\, a spare magazine\, and at least 50 rounds of ammunition.\nAll firearms and magazines must be concealed by a cover garment. Appendix carry is permitted. Red dot sights are allowed.\nRequirements/not allowed: Race guns\, all handguns must be readily concealable. belts must go through the belt loops on pants\, no stage walk throughs\, no practice aiming or turning on red dots. When you are told to "make ready" the game is on.

DESCRIPTION:This is PCC rifle match.  We also invite pistol shooters as well.  Stages will be a little longer distances. We set up at 11:00 AM and start at 1:00 PM.  Cash is best at the time of the match.  Checks are also ok.  There will be about 4 stages depending on pace of match and stage design.  We sometimes shoot low light stages so bring a weapon mounted tac flashlight. New shooters will need a safety briefing starting at about 12:15 PM. Please be on time. Bring 125 rounds of ammo.  We have rifle racks we will be using from now on.  these will be used in place of individual range bags so to  move match along faster.  You will need to clear rifle and flag rifle chamber before racking rifle.  MD will give more detailed  instructions at match time.
