This is not a competition and is REQUIRED to compete on the Richmond Action Range for action matches (USPSA\, PCSL\, GPA) or Saturday Practice. This course will not teach you how to use a firearm so please be familiar and competent with your pistol and equipment.\nEquipment needed:\n- Handgun\n- 3 magazines minimum\n- 150 rounds of ammo (no steel jacketed ammo allowed)\n- Pistol holster (belt must go through belt loops)\n- Mag holsters\n- Eye & Ear protection\nPrice is $160\, with RRGC members refunded $40 upon completion of the class. Please note that refunds are available up to a week before your scheduled class date - any closer and it will be dependent on our ability to fill your spot.\nSAFETY UPDATE REGARDING SIG P320: The RRGC Board of Directors has implemented an immediate and total ban on the SIG Sauer P320 platform across all club property. This includes all variants such as the M17\, M18\, X5\, AXG\, and any aftermarket configurations (e.g.\, custom FCUs\, third-party frames). As of now\, P320s are completely prohibited anywhere on RRGC grounds - not just on the ranges\, but also in parking areas\, vehicles\, bags\, and all match or event spaces. All shooters who provide USPSA numbers will have their scores submitted to SCSA by Wednesday of match week and will affect classification.\n5. If you are a new shooter or new to Steel Challenge\, please let us know in the form below so we can squad you with an experienced RO and shooter.\n6. You will be able to squad online once your registration is accepted. Please keep in mind that we reserve the right to change your squad to even out squad sizes and provide assistance to new shooters.\nThis is an SCSA sanctioned\, Level I\, match with all eight of this year’s Steel Challenge Stages of fire. Holster for centerfire pistols and revolvers\, chamber flag and gun bag for rimfire pistols or chamber flag and bag (or secured to cart gun rack) for rimfire rifles and PCC's. (Rimfire pistols\, though shot from low ready\, may be securely holstered).\nWe are a COLD RANGE. All weapons must be empty at all times until you are invited into the shooter's box and given the load and make ready command. At the end of each stage shoot\, you will demonstrate that your weapon is empty before flagging and bagging or holstering. No loaded guns may be carried during the match. A safety table may also be provided for unbagging and holstering guns. NO AMMO is permitted at the safety table. Breaking any safety rules or handling a firearm in an unsafe manner will result in disqualification and ejection from the competition range.\nRecommended gear: Water\, snacks\, sunblock and hat. Long pants are recommend (but not required) as steel tends to bounce shrapnel. DESCRIPTION:LONG GONG. Long Gong is a 300 Yard Challenge for the .22LR rifle. The Targets are AR400 steel Gongs with a diameter of 8"\n'\,6"\n"\, 4". Scoring is 1 point for impacts on\nthe 8"\n\, 2 points for the 6" \, and finally\, 3 points for the 4"\nThis match is shot off of a bench with a ten round limit for 5 sets. That's 50 rounds per match. Bags & bipods only. There is a three MINUTE time limit per stage. Order of fire is 8" first and an IMPACT is required to move on to the next target\, than 6"\,\n"\, last the 4". If you miss a\ntarget you have to fall back to the last target impacted and continue from there. On the other hand if you hit a target you can choose to remain hitting said target you will be accumulating that targets point value. Score will be totaled after each round with hight score being 27.\nThis is a Fun & Challenging game of precision for all ages and levels marksmanship. Currently everyone on the waitlist gets into the match; we intentionally set the squad size a little low at first to make sure our squads stay balanced as people withdraw over the course of the week.\nA note regarding withdrawals: recently there has been a significant uptick in last-minute withdrawals and no-shows. This makes it very hard to use the waitlist to fill in and keep squads balanced\, damaging match flow and leading to frustrating stack-ups.\nHistorically\, due to credit card processing fees\, withdrawing from the match had incurred a $5 handling fee. We are trying something new this month: there will be *no* handling fee for withdrawal requests made *before* 5:59pm Pacific on Thursday night. Withdrawal requests made *after* that time will incur a *$10* handling fee\, up to the closure of registration. After 6pm on Friday there will be no refunds\, as has been the case. Our hope is that this incentivizes those who know they can’t make it to drop earlier\, allowing for better squad balancing and smoother-flowing matches; it also removes any disincentive to withdraw if things look doubtful and just re-register later if the schedule clears up. DESCRIPTION:BRING A FRIEND TO THEIR FIRST MATCH AND IT'S ONLY $20 FOR THEM.\n7 to 8 stages with yardages ranging from 200 to 1100 yards.\nMost stages will be between 10-12 rounds\, shooting\nfrom various barricades and positions. Be prepared with at least 100 rounds for the match and more for zero check or re-shoots.\nThe shooting is from “flat range” conditions (but ground is uneven) up valleys and hills to the targets. Although in beautiful Southern California\, the weather can vary widely\, so be prepared for cold or warm conditions\, wet or dry.\nNo steel core ammunition will be allowed.\nEquipment\nYou will need a rifle with an optic that will allow you to locate and engage targets\, and any other shooting gear you like to use.
