SUMMARY:ASC NRL22 22LR Rimfire July 2026 COF
DESCRIPTION:Registration/Zero Range Open: 0800-0845\nMandatory Safety/Match Brief: 0845\nMatch Starts: 0900\nYou must be present for the safety brief at 0845 to be eligible to participate. There are no exceptions to this.\nIf you are not familiar with NRL22\, it is a great (and cheaper) way to experience precision rifle shooting.\nYou don't have to be a Member of NRL22 organization to shoot the monthly matches\, but you do have to be a member if you want to be tracked by NRL22 and try to qualify for the NRL22 Nationals each year.\nThe monthly NRL22 Course of fire will be 5 stages (with a possibility of extra side stages). 80+ rounds of 22LR engaging steel targets from 25 to 100 yards. There is a good mix between prone\, barricade and positional stages. Steel targets sized from 1/4" to 6" depending on the stage description.\nMatches are focused on skills development and casual competition in a relaxed atmosphere. It’s a great opportunity to challenge your marksmanship skills from obstacles and barricades engaging targets as small as ¼ of an inch. Stages will have multiple steel targets ranging anywhere from 25 to 100 yards\, something you can’t shoot on most ranges. Each month is a different course of fire. There will be great mix of new and experienced shooters who love to share knowledge with others who are interested in PRS.\n$30 for non ASC Member\n$20 for ASC Member.\n$10 Discount for LEO/MIL\nYoung Guns (16 and under) shoot free. YG must be accompanied by adult.\nClassifications: Open\, Base\, Ladies\, Young Guns and Old Guns\n.22LR rifles only (Air Rifles are accepted according to NRL22 Air Rifle Rules) (NO .22MAG or pistols)\nYou must use the same rifle for all stages.\nRequired: 22LR Rifle\, Ammo\, Chamber Flag\, Eyes/Ears\nRecommended: Scope\, bipod\, extra ammo for sight in\, dope card/ballistic calculator\, rifle bag\, appropriate clothing/footwear for the weather (this is outdoor range).\nPlease Register and Pay on Practiscore.\nInformation - https://aurorasc.org/departments/action-shooting-sports/nrl22\nMonthly COF - https://nrl22.com/product-category/download/2025-season/\nRules - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1El6Ue6G789j4mlASuwCN6fZDefPLh76h/view?usp=drive_link\nWe will closely follow the NRL22 rules and monthly course of fire but we just want everyone to come out and try shooting NRL22 and have fun. If you have a handicap and cannot get into some of the positions\, we will make accommodations (Old Gun Class). Just come shoot if you are interested.\nIf you are not an ASC member\, you will need a code for the gate at the entrance to the range. The event gate code will be sent to you in your registration confirmation email. Our matches are held on the east side ranges\, which are to the east and behind the general shooting ranges. There is an access drive between the 100 yard and 200 yard ranges that will take you to the east side ranges. If you can't find them\, ask a club member or RSO and they can guide you back to the ranges.\nASC Members - When registering on Practiscore - you need to be logged in with your email and have approved ASC membership status in order for the ASC Club discount to appear.\nIf you're not seeing the discount - please contact me so we can resolve this before you register.\nContact Jay at\n312-933-9701\njnierodzik@gmail.com

SUMMARY:Heartland Cornhusker State Games Steel Challenge July 12th
DESCRIPTION:Steel Challenge is a speed shooting competition governed by the Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA) that consists of eight standardized stages with steel targets in three sizes; small circular (10”)\, large circular (12”) and rectangular (18x24”) targets. Competitors are scored solely by the time it takes them to complete each stage\, and the match winner is the competitor with the lowest overall time.\nThere are 4 stages with 5 steel targets on each. Shooters get five runs on each stage. Each competitor shoots each stage five times\, with their slowest run dropped. The counting times are totaled for their stage score\, and the 4 stage scores are added together to establish the competitor's match score.\nFor each run\, one hit per target is required\, with an unlimited number of rounds. The last target to be shot is known as the "stop plate"\, which stops the timer. Any primary targets that have not been hit after the stop plate has been struck\, will be scored with a 3-second penalty each. The maximum time permitted for a run is 30 seconds and a competitor will be stopped and asked to reload if they reach the 30 second limit.\nround count is 100 required\, recommended to bring 150-200 to account for makeup shots.\nAwards: 1st place per division\n 2nd place if 5 or more in the division\n 3rd place if 9 or more in the division\nRegistration fee: 25$ until Feb. 18th\n 30$ Feb. 19th - April. 22nd\n 35$ April 23rd - June 17th\n 40$ June 18th - close of registration.

SUMMARY:IWLA Long Gong - July
DESCRIPTION:WELCOME TO LONG GONG!!\nTHE GAME- This is a 300 yd. shooting challenge using rifles chambered in .22 LR only. The object is to shoot the highest score possible.\nTHE TARGET- The targets are AR400 3/16” thick rimfire gongs\, an 8”\, a 6”\, and a 4” gong. Each gong has a value\, 1 point for the 8”\, 2 points for the 6”\, and 3 points for the 4” gong.\nTHE SETUP- From a bench rest (limited to bipods and bags\, no sleds) each shooter\, with 10 rounds of ammunition begins by shooting for the 8” gong. The shooter has a 3-minute time limit to complete their round\, the clock starts with their first shot.\nTHE ORDER- If the shooter hits the 8”\, they score 1 point and now can choose to advance to the 6” gong or continue shooting for the 8” gong. If the shooter advances to the 6” gong and connects\, that hit is worth 2 points\, and they now can choose to shoot for the 4” gong.\nEXAMPLE- (Dave shoots and hits the 8” gong\, scoring 1 point. Dave says he’s going to shoot for the 6”\, he hits it scoring 2 more points. Dave says he’s going for the 4” gong\, shoots and misses scoring a zero\, and now must move back to the 6” gong. If Dave misses his shot on the 6”\, he will score another zero and be forced to move back to the 8” gong. If Dave hits the 6” he’ll score 2 points and again have the opportunity to shoot at the 4” gong.)\nTHE RULES- The shooter must tell the scorekeeper when they switch gongs. A hit only counts if it’s a solid gong hit\, chain or hanger hits do not count. If the shooter misses\, they must go back one gong. If the shooter shoots the wrong gong\, it counts as a zero and the shooter must resume shooting on the correct gong.\nTHE SCORE- The score is totaled after each shooter\, with a possible high score of 27 points (1+2+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3=27). A complete game has every shooter fire 5 complete sets for a total of 50 rounds of ammunition (1 full box). The highest possible score for a competition is 135 points. In case of a tie score\, the winner is determined by the shooter with the highest single round score.\nTHE COMPETITORS- The order of the shooters in the first set is determined by drawing numbered chips\, and in each successive set the order of the shooters is determined by the scores\, with the lowest score shooting first. If two or more shooters have identical scores\, whoever shot the score initially will shoot first in the following round. (If Tom shoots an 11\, and then Dave also shoots an 11\, Tom will go before Dave in the following round.)\nTHE CHALLENGE- Hitting gongs at 300 yds. with a .22 LR is challenging. Hitting them repeatedly under changing conditions requires all the fundamentals used by the best long-distance shooters in the world. Do you think you have what it takes?\nNote: We will mix the distances up in the beginning matches (i.e.\, 2 rounds @ 200 yards\, then 3 rounds @ 300 yards).\nPlease come out and join us for some\, or all these events. While competitive in spirit\, these matches are fun shoots and there are plenty of shooters willing to help if you are interested in joining us!\nIf you have any questions\, please feel free to contact me.\nYou can also find the events calendar on the IWLA website here: https://mtairyiwla.org/index.php/calendar/
