DESCRIPTION:This is an ADVANCED SHOOTING CLASS. PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE DESCRIPTION.\nThis is a 5 - 6hr course consisting of interactive instruction followed by intense training/practice on the range. Please report to the IDPA pits at the rear of the club. Please do not drive to the pits unless authorized to do so by the staff.\nEmphasis will be on teaching shooters who are new to IDPA to navigate a course of fire safely and efficiently. Students will learn the terminology and range commands used in the sport of IDPA.\nThe following skills/techniques will be taught and then practiced under the supervision of experienced and currently certified IDPA Safety Officers:\nLoading and unloading the gun while on the line;\nDrawing from a holster and acquiring a target;\nProper clearing of the gun at the end of a course of fire;\nHolstering the gun; target transitions; engaging targets in tactical priority; slide-lock reloads; tactical reloads with retention;\nShooting on the move (forward\, backward\, laterally);\nShooting strong hand\, weak hand\, and freestyle;\nProper use of cover; muzzle control while competing; and scoring of targets.\nCertified IDPA Safety Officers teach the basics at the IDPA ranges. The students then proceed to the different pits where a team of certified SOs run students through a small match. Stages are designed to complement the classroom teaching\, and provide practical illustrations to many of the rules of IDPA.\nCost is $25 for non-Old Colony members. Old Colony members are free.\nClass is limited to 20 people. 4 squads of 5.\nMinimum caliber of gun .38/9mm or larger. If we run a classifier stage\, I'll let you know in the email I send right before the match.\nMatch Fee is $15 for VCGHC members and $20 for non-members. Shooters who wish to shoot a second gun may do so for an additional $10. A second gun requires a separate registration. If the second gun is a "snubby" in the same division as the other gun- please put "Snubby" after your last name in the registration so it will be easily distinguished when scoring as it won't necessarily show as a different division. Only revolver scores will be submitted to ICORE.\nWe also invite semi-auto shooters to join us. You will shoot following ICORE rules. You are limited to 8 rounds in any magazine and start with 8 rounds in the gun. Just register in the semi-auto iron sights (Semi-IS) or semi-auto optic sights\, (Semi-OS) divisions. List classification as Unclassified. If there are enough in this division\, we can set you up in your own squad. Plan on enough magazines for 36 round stages.

There are no exceptions to this.\nIf you are not familiar with NRL22\, it is a great (and cheaper) way to experience precision rifle shooting.\nYou don't have to be a Member of NRL22 organization OR WBBSC to shoot the monthly matches\, but you do have to be a member of NRL22 if you want to be tracked by NRL22 and try to qualify for the NRL22 Nationals each year.\nThe monthly NRL22 Course of fire will be 5 stages (plus two additional stages). 80+ rounds of 22LR engaging steel targets from 25 to 100 yards. There is a good mix between prone\, barricade and positional stages. Steel targets sized from 1/4" to 6" depending on the stage description.\nFinal COF with the additional stages will be emailed out on Friday before the match.\nMatches are focused on skills development and casual competition in a relaxed atmosphere. It is a great opportunity to challenge your marksmanship skills from obstacles and barricades engaging targets as small as ¼ of an inch. Stages will have multiple steel targets ranging anywhere from 25 to 100 yards\, something you can’t shoot on most ranges. Each month is a different course of fire. SUMMARY:Hillside Competitive Shooting PCSL 1-gun match
DESCRIPTION:Hillside Competitive Shooting is hosting a 1-gun PCSL match. For this match we're planning on 3 or 4 stages. Round count for this match should be less than 150\, depending on misses. This will be a modified 1-gun match. We will be following the PCSL rules. This is a level 1 match.\nIf a lot of rain is forecast for Roanoke\, pay attention to your email or the Hillside Competitive Shooting Facebook page for updates on the status of the match.\nMake sure you have ammo for the match before showing up. Day of the match competitors will register at the outdoor range at 4593 E. Station Rd\, and the electronic gate will be open.\nGo to pcsleague.us\, and under RULES click on GENERAL RULEBOOK\, and or PISTOL/PCC DIVISIONS AND SCORING to familiarize yourself with the rules. Especially if you are new to pcsl\, or competitive shooting in general.\nSAFETY AREAS:\nWe run a COLD range. Firearms must be unloaded at all times except during the match under the direct supervision of a Range Safety Officer (RO). HANDLING OF FIREARMS AT VEHICLES IS PROHIBITED. Pistols may be unbagged and holstered ONLY at designated Safety Areas or unbagged under the direction of a RO/SO at the shooting position. PCC's must be chamber in pistol calibers. PCC's must be flagged and preferably bagged at all times unless at a safe table or after receiving the "Make Ready" command.\nSafety Areas are clearly marked with signs. If the table doesn't have a sign marked "Safety Area" then it isn't one and Gun Handling is not allowed there but ammunition handling is.\nNO AMMUNITION HANDLING in safety areas.\nWaiver required at registration.\nCash only please.\nRegistration: 8:30-9:30 am\nMandatory Shooter's meeting: 9:45am\nStart time: 10am!!!!!!!\nWe're usually done and cleaned up by about 3pm at the latest.
