There will be 4 early squads for competitors to shoot with staff on Friday\, December 4\, 2026\, first-come\, first-served.\n-Saturday\, December 5 and Sunday\, December 6\, 2026\, is for competitors shooting.\n-Special Safety Rule:  Shooters will not shoot at steel targets or steel hard cover at less than 10 yards.\n-Lunch will be served during the match\, competition will not stop for lunch (lunch will be individual lunches).\n-Please select ONLY ONE subcategory per the Match Administration Rules\, paragraph M-5.2.\n-REFUND POLICY\nHistorically\, the Sheepdog CCP Championship has had a no refund policy except in the most extreme circumstance (death of a competitor). Bring extra ammo\, as it there is none available for purchase at the facility.\nRULES:\nThis is a Tier 1 local Steel Challenge match and we will abide by the rules of Steel Challenge Shooting Association.\nAll SCSA divisions as well as LO\, RRI\, and RRO are included .  So let's see those Wheel Guns.\nThough you may register in multiple divisions\, you may only register once in any individual division.\nSCORING:\nWe will use the normal Steel Challenge Scoring.\nSAFETY AREAS:\nThurmont is a COLD range.\nFirearms must be unloaded at all times except during the match under the direct supervision of a safety officer (SO).\nHandling of firearms at vehicles is prohibited. Long guns must have an EMPTY CHAMBER INDICATOR (Chamber Flag) IN PLACE at all times starting from the moment the rifle is uncased for placement in a gun cart or brought to the shooting position.\nPistols may be unbagged and holstered ONLY at designated Safety Areas or unbagged under the direction of a RO/SO at the shooting position.\nSafety Areas are clearly marked with signs.  If the table doesn't have a sign marked "Safety Area" then it isn't one and Gun Handling is not allowed there but ammunition handling is.\nNO AMMUNITION HANDLING in safety areas. Use of suppressors is not prohibited but the match director can not assure accurate times.\nAll pistol calibers permitted. As per SCSA rules the maximum velocity for any Handgun or Pistol Caliber Carbine shooting steel is 1600fps. Steel will be available at 100\, 200\, and 300 yards.\nRange Officers\nDedicated RO’s are a key component of high quality matches. Competitors love that their only responsibility is shooting\, socializing with their friends\, and having a good time. These matches are Time Plus\, which means your score will be your completion time for the stage\, plus 10 seconds if you hit a hostage\, and/or minus 10 seconds for hitting the bonus target.  Par Time is 90 Seconds for each stage.  If you fail to hit all your targets within par time\, your score will be par time plus 5 seconds for each target not hit\, +- any bonus/hostage hits.\nTo compete in this match you will need an accurate rifle\, at least 80rds of rifle ammo\, a chamber flag\, a variable powered optic\, 2 mags\, and DOPE out to 600yds.  You will also need a pistol\, at least 80rds of pistol ammo\, 2 mags\, and an outside-the-waistband holster. Each string has a max possible time of only 30 seconds. Your score will be your total time plus penalties. Your slowest string is discarded. Simple to learn\, hard to master.\nPlease bring to the line with you a minimum of 4 magazines to help speed along the shooting order. If you do not have enough magazines you may bring someone to the line with you to help load mags while you shoot.\nNo magnum ammunition permitted at all\, no penetrators or solid copper projectiles or bi-metal rounds commonly found on steel cased ammo.
