DESCRIPTION:This match is a Practical Shooting League evening at CDTSA Milo Range in Bay 12.  PSL happens on the 2nd Tuesday evening of the month during the spring and summer.\nThe start time is at 5:30pm.  This is when the Safety Briefing and the stage walk-through happens and we start shooting soon after.  If you can't make it by then\, get there when you can.  We will start setup about an hour or so before start time (4:30pm).  If you can come to help it would be appreciated.  If you can't make setup\, get here when you can.  If you are later than the start time we will fill you in.  If you shoot\, the cleanup at the end is mandatory.\nThe gates open for non-members at 4:00pm.\nDepending on how many shooters register\, we will have one or two stages set up.  If we set up one stage\, we will shoot it twice with different starting positions\, then change the targets around and shoot it 2 more times per shooter.  If we have two stages set up then we will shoot one stage twice with different start positions then switch with the other squad and shoot the other stage the same way.\nRound count is about 100.  This means you need 100 rounds of ammunition if you don't take any extra shots but more if you do.\n**A Black Badge is NOT required to shoot.  All we ask is that you come with a safety conscious attitude.\nThe cost is $10 for non-members\, and FREE for members. Bring extra ammo\, as it there is none available for purchase at the facility.\nRULES:\nThis is a Tier 1 local Steel Challenge match and we will abide by the rules of Steel Challenge Shooting Association.\nAll SCSA divisions as well as LO\, RRI\, and RRO are included.  So let's see those Wheel Guns.\nThough you may register in multiple divisions\, you may only register once in any individual division.\nSCORING:\nWe will use the normal Steel Challenge Scoring.\nSAFETY AREAS:\nThurmont is a COLD range. Firearms must be unloaded at all times except during the match under the direct supervision of a Range Safety Officer (RO). HANDLING OF FIREARMS AT VEHICLES IS PROHIBITED. Long guns must have an EMPTY CHAMBER INDICATOR (Chamber Flag) IN PLACE at all times starting from the moment the rifle is uncased for placement in a gun cart or brought to the shooting position. Pistols may be unbagged and holstered ONLY at designated Safety Areas or unbagged under the direction of a RO/SO at the shooting position.\nSafety Areas are clearly marked with signs.  If the table doesn't have a sign marked "Safety Area" then it isn't one and Gun Handling is not allowed there but ammunition handling is.\nNO AMMUNITION HANDLING in safety areas. Note that cinder block and plywood walls ARE NOT safety areas. Use of suppressors is not prohibited but the match director can not assure accurate times.\nAll pistol calibers permitted. I.e.\, 9mm\, 38super\, .40S&W\, 45ACP\, .38 Special\, 44 Special\, 45LC\, .and 22lr rimfire. As per SCSA rules the maximum velocity for any Handgun or Pistol Caliber Carbine shooting steel is 1600fps. DESCRIPTION:Monthly event for pre-1960 surplus military rifles\, issued from any nation. The match is a very light competition with the emphasis being marksmanship\, fun and few firearm regulations (other than safety). All shooting will be done from the bench from a front rest. No rear bags allowed. No prone\, or seated on the ground. This is designed for the average shooter\, not the high power match competitor. If you're looking for serious competition this will not be a good match for you.\n* Only one gun per shooter.\n* Military issued rifles (any country) up to and including 1960\n* Smokeless powder cartridge only\n* No sporterized stocks or barrels and must be in the original issued caliber\n* In order to help equalize the sighting improvements over the 100+ year time period this match covers and to help people with poor vision:\n1. Rear peep sights are allowed even if they were not an issued item.\n2. Aftermarket scopes ARE also allowed even if scopes were not an issue item.\n* There will be two simple classes:\n1. Other SIG SAUER platforms continue to be welcome at CFRPC.***\n2026 Summer Speed League is every Wednesday evening beginning April 22\, 2026 to August 26\, 2026.\n$10...CFRPC Members (must show CFRPC badge)\n$20...Non-members (must show blue Extended Non-member Waiver Card\, or fill out a waiver)\nAll spectators must fill out a waiver and wear a name tag.  Waivers and name tags are located in the LAR check-in trailer.\nEye protection is mandatory for everyone at all times\, no exceptions!\nHearing protection must be worn by all while on the shooting bays.\n_______________________________\nWednesday Match Schedule:\n2:00pm ... Set-up for the match\n5:00pm ... Check-in opens in LAR trailer (cash only)\n5:45pm ... Check-in closes (no-shows forfeit spots to walk-in's)\n5:45pm ... MANDATORY safety brief for all participants and spectators.\n6:00pm ... Shooting begins at 6pm SHARP!\nSunset  ... All shooting must be completed before the sunsets.\nThe SUNSET time restriction is why it is imperative that you are checked-in and paid (cash only) prior to 5:45pm (not in line to check-in at 5:45pm\, but have completed the check-in process before 5:45pm).  Check-in closes at 5:45pm and the LAR trailer doors will be locked.  The Mandatory safety brief will begin at 5:45pm.  Everyone (participants and spectators) must attend the mandatory safety brief\,  if missed you will not be allowed to participate in the match.\nRegistration opens at 10am on Thursday\, for the following Wednesday match.   There are only 125 spots available for each match\, and it fill up FAST\, so plan accordingly to remember to sign-up as soon as registration opens!\nThis is an all steel match.  All of the targets are non-falling steel\, which means no time is wasted on resetting the steel targets.  Also\, there's no paper targets and no pasting!\nRound count for each match is approximately 200 rounds.\nSummer Speed League divisions:\n- Rimfire Rifle\n- Rimfire Pistol\n- Pistol Irons\n- Pistol Open\n- PCC\n- Revolver\nAt the conclusion of the season\, awards and prizes will be given for 1st Place in each Division.
