Bring extra ammo\, as it there is none available for purchase at the facility.\nRULES:\nThis is a Tier 1 local Steel Challenge match and we will abide by the rules of Steel Challenge Shooting Association.\nAll SCSA divisions as well as LO\, RRI\, and RRO are included.  So let's see those Wheel Guns.\nThough you may register in multiple divisions\, you may only register once in any individual division.\nSCORING:\nWe will use the normal Steel Challenge Scoring.\nSAFETY AREAS:\nThurmont is a COLD range. Firearms must be unloaded at all times except during the match under the direct supervision of a Range Safety Officer (RO). HANDLING OF FIREARMS AT VEHICLES IS PROHIBITED. Long guns must have an EMPTY CHAMBER INDICATOR (Chamber Flag) IN PLACE at all times starting from the moment the rifle is uncased for placement in a gun cart or brought to the shooting position. Pistols may be unbagged and holstered ONLY at designated Safety Areas or unbagged under the direction of a RO/SO at the shooting position.\nSafety Areas are clearly marked with signs.  If the table doesn't have a sign marked "Safety Area" then it isn't one and Gun Handling is not allowed there but ammunition handling is.\nNO AMMUNITION HANDLING in safety areas. Note that cinder block and plywood walls ARE NOT safety areas. Use of suppressors is not prohibited but the match director can not assure accurate times.\nAll pistol calibers permitted. I.e.\, 9mm\, 38super\, .40S&W\, 45ACP\, .38 Special\, 44 Special\, 45LC\, .and 22lr rimfire. As per SCSA rules the maximum velocity for any Handgun or Pistol Caliber Carbine shooting steel is 1600fps. New shooters\, or anyone who would like a safety refresher\, MUST be present by 5:30 p.m. for safety brief. If you're not present at the start of the safety brief you will not shoot. Safety first.\nResetting stages: ALL COMPETITORS are responsible for helping to reset a stage by pasting bullet holes on targets. You must be helping with reset unless you are the next shooter or you've just completed your stage and reloading magazines.\nCleanup: ALL COMPETITORS are EXPECTED to help strike the stage on which you finish. Pick up at least one prop and get it stored back on its cart and back to the storage area.\nEye protection MUST be worn at all times\, EVEN WHEN SOMEONE IS NOT SHOOTING A STAGE. This is non-negotiable. Moving forward\, you will get ONE reminder before being thanked for coming that night and ending that night's competition for you. Despite your signed waiver\, this is a liability on which the match organizers will no longer be flexible. There will be no exceptions.\nAfter you register\, choose the squad you'd like\, “squad me” and then hit save at the bottom of the page.\nWe MUST have at least two certified SOs on each squad. If y'all squad together we'll split you apart.\nAfter you register\, choose your squad\, hit “squad me” and then hit save at the bottom of the page.\nClosed toed shoes are MANDATORY.\nIDPA ranges are COLD ranges. All weapons will be UNLOADED and in a holster will be slide forward with the hammer or striker down. All PCCs will be bagged or cased AND have an empty chamber flag inserted. Coming to the line\, PCCs will be either muzzle up or down with a chamber flag inserted WITHOUT EXCEPTION.\nAbsolutely NO handling of weapons unless you’re at a designated SAFE TABLE or under direct control of a safety officer during a course of fire. NO handling of ammunition\, live or inert\, at a safe table.\nIf you're coming to the match and you are lawfully carrying a firearm\, GO TO AN EMPTY STALL IN BAY 1 TO DOWNLOAD THE GUN. DO NOT download the gun at the safe table.\nBy signing up for and participating in these matches you agree to hold harmless match safety officials and Freedom Outdoors Shooting Center for any accidents that occur.\nAs a reminder\, Sig P320 pistols and ALL of its variants are not allowed at IDPA matches.
