DESCRIPTION:Del Norte Gun Club is excited to introduce “The Dark is Afraid of Chuck Norris\,” a brand-new night match being added to the Black Rifle Charity Match weekend.  The match will be Friday September 25th.\nThis rifle-only night match was created to provide another opportunity for our shooting community to come together in support of the Second Amendment and the organizations working to protect it here in New Mexico. Proceeds from the match benefiting the New Mexico Shooting Sports Association (NMSSA) and the New Mexico Firearms Industry Association (NMFIA).\nLast year\, the Black Rifle Charity Match raised nearly $20\,000 to support the fight for our Second Amendment rights in New Mexico. Following a legislative session that saw significant efforts to restrict those rights\, and with the expectation that those efforts will continue\, we felt it was important to expand the Black Rifle Charity Match weekend and provide another opportunity for the shooting community to get involved.\nThis inaugural night match will consist of four rifle-only stages\, adapted from the main Black Rifle Charity Match with modifications designed specifically for low-light and NVG conditions.\nDue to the nature of this event\, competitors must have safely completed several action shooting matches prior to participating. Shooters may be asked to provide additional information regarding their match experience before registration is approved. Because of significant interest and the limited number of available slots\, competitor selection for this inaugural event will be conducted by lottery.\nSchedule\nAll competitors should plan to be ready by 7:00 PM.\nWe will conduct a brief safety meeting followed by stage walkthroughs while there is still enough light to see. Once it gets dark enough\, the match will begin.\nPlease arrive with your magazines loaded\, but keep all firearms unloaded and bagged until instructed to “Make Ready.”  Also make sure your lasers (IR and visible) are in the off position.\nEquipment\nCompetitors should bring:\nA rifle\nAt least 150 rounds of rifle ammunition\nA headlamp or handheld light for resetting targets\nA rifle sling (may be required; final requirements will be announced prior to the match)\nDivisions\nNODS\nNight vision only\nActive or passive aiming permitted\nNo additional equipment restrictions\nWhite Light Optics\nWeapon-mounted white light required\nOptics permitted\nNo additional equipment restrictions\nScoring and Rules\nScoring will be Time Plus\, using the same scoring system as our Black Rifle and 3-Gun matches:\nTwo hits anywhere\, or\nOne Alpha hit to neutralize\nOther than divisions\, this match will use the same ruleset as our Black Rifle matches:\nLink\nMatch Flow\nBecause we will be operating on a limited timeline\, efficient match flow will be critical. All Tubular-magazine 22s are OK.\n*“Assault weapons” ban- If you’re registered with CA DOJ already\, you’re fine and can shoot your AK\, AR15\, G3 etc. with no problem.  Might want to Xerox the DOJ document and keep it in the rifle case.  Do not bring an unregistered “assault weapon” into the state.  Do not bring an unregistered “assault weapon” to the range.  Similarly\, unregistered 50 BMG is not legal.\nOut of state shooters\, don’t bring military-pattern semiautomatics as they’re almost sure to fall under the “assault weapon” ban.  M1 Garand and most 10-shot fixed-magazine SKS' are OK\, however. \nThere is one SKS exception: Zastava SKS Carbines 59/66 are considered destructive devices in California and therefore may not be purchased\, possessed\, imported\, or kept for sale without a permit. \n(Having said all that about “assault rifles”\, there is provision in state law for out-of-state shooters to bring “assault rifles” to CA shooting events; anybody wants to try that out might want to read the statute for themselves and consult a lawyer-welcome to California.\nTransport rifles and pistols unloaded.  Pistols and “assault rifles” go in padlocked containers.  Car trunk is considered a locked container\, but glove compartment\, even if it locks\, is not OK.  (I go the extra mile and padlock everything: firearms in one padlocked container\, ammunition in another padlocked container.  More th\nMisc:\nAmmunition Required:  Approximately 400 rounds\n50 positions available at 25 meters. Bring your 22s out and gain valuable marksmanship skills and save money. An outdoor hot shower is available on site but there is no potable water. A few electrical outlets are available to charge a cellphone. The range gate is normally locked: prior coordination  must be made with the event Shoot Boss to coordinate range gate opening if needed for camping before the start of the event.\nHotels:\nThere are no motels in Ramseur but restaurants and cafes are open during the week.\nSiler City is about 15 minutes east of the range. Limited motels and food choices are available.\nDirections:\nThe range is at the corner of Willie Wright Rd & Royal Ridge Rd.\nFrom Ramseur\, North Carolina - go South on NC Route 22\, about 2 miles\, then left on Old Siler City Rd. Go about 2 miles to a Stop sign. Proceed straight from Stop sign (Parks crossroads). Immediately turn right onto Willie Wright Rd.
