DESCRIPTION:USPSA (United States Practical ShootingAssociation) Pistol Match: Practical Shooting measures the shooter’s ability toshoot rapidly and accurately through obstacle-laden courses. The shooter moves\,negotiates\, runs\, covers\, and speed reloads through the stage as fast as theirskill will allow.  If this fast paced shooting sounds like fun\, come outand give it a try. Show up with an unloaded centerfire pistol in .38\, 9mm\, .40\,or .45 in an enclosed case and ask a match official where the safe area is soyou can holster your gun safely.  Also bring a rigid holster\, magazines\,and mag pouches capable of holding at least 32 rounds.  Overall matchround counts are usually between 100 and 150 rounds.  Specific divisionrequirements can be found at http://uspsa.org.  Starts at 9:30 AM and costwill be $20 ($15 for Pinetucky members\, active duty military\, police\, andfire). Handguns may be possessed ONLY with a Massachusetts Class A License To Carry with either ‘None’ or ‘All Lawful Purposes’ for Reason for Issuance. – if you’re from out of state\, you need a MA non-resident LTC. MA has NO reciprocity with any other state. No ‘assault weapons’ – we still have an AWB that is the same thing as the old Federal AWB. ARs cannot have a flash hider\, collapsible stock or a bayonet lug unless they are ‘pre-ban.’ High capacity magazines must be pre-ban as well. Non-residents CANNOT purchase ammo in this state. This park is on Kentucky Lake and borders the Land Between the Lakes\, a National Recreation area operated by the Forest Service.\nHotels:\nMotels are available about 15 miles from the range in Murray\, KY and Paris\, TN.\nDirections:\nHenry County Gun Club is located approximately 5 ½ miles SW of Puryear\, TN. Puryear is approximately 10 miles north of Paris\, TN and 12 miles south of Murray\, KY\, on Hwy 641.\nFrom Puryear\, take Hwy 140 west for approximately 3.5 miles and turn left onto Goldston Springs Rd. Goldston Springs Rd. does not cross 140. It begins at Hwy 140 on the south side. There is a small gun club sign at this intersection. The entrance to the club will be on the left about 2 miles down Goldston Springs Rd. Portable toilets are available.\nFresh water is available; it’s safe to drink but tastes bad. No grey or black water dumping.\nThere is also a commercial campground in Calhan called Cadillac Jacks. It is closed during the winter; it is open April 1st through October 1st.\nThey are about 14 miles from the range. 719-347-2000\nHotels:\nCalhan\, CO – 14 miles southwest\, on Hwy 24\, Fuel and convenience store. Most places to eat close early in Calhan.\nLimon\, CO – 31 miles east\, I-70 exit 359; Limon has several 24-hour truck stops. These motels are on south side of I-70 all within sight of the exit. There may be more motels at other exits. Both Hwy 86 and 24 lead to Limon.\nEconoLodge 719-775-2867. Continental breakfast included.\nSuper 8 – 719-775-2889. It will take you to the caretaker’s house. \nhttps://www.blgc.org/range/\nFrom the Denver-metro area\, take either Colorado Highway 83 (Parker Road) to Franktown\, or I-25 to Castle Rock\, then Colorado Highway 86 to Franktown. From Franktown take Colorado Highway 86 east to Elbert County Road 105 (just past the 39-mile marker). Take Road 105 south 5 miles to the gun club\, which will be on your right.\nFrom Colorado Springs\, take Hwy 24 east 37 miles to Blasingame Road. (Blasingame Road crosses Hwy 24 about a half mile west of Ramah). Turn left on Blasingame Road and follow it to Commerce Road. Take Commerce Road to Rd 105. Turn right on Road 105 and go north 6 miles to the gun club which will be on your left.\nFrom Limon and points east\, take I-70 to exit 352 then head west on Colorado Highway 86. It will contain information important for the weekend.\nFor the normal 2-day Appleseed events we will shoot at 25 meters both days. Bring a .22 rimfire or centerfire rifle\, 400-500 rounds\, and at least 2 or more magazines. A .22 rimfire is best since you can gain valuable marksmanship skills without using up your expensive centerfire ammo. \nFor the KD (Known Distance) events we will shoot out to 400 yards both days. You will need to bring a centerfire rifle\, 400-500 rounds\, and at least 2 or more magazines.\nBLGC is a cold range. No Tracer\, AP\, or incendiary ammo allowed (fire hazard\, hard on steel targets). Attracts a magnet is OK. Please leave your rifles in the car until asked to bring them to the firing line. Please\, no handguns (concealed or open) on the firing line. Bring layered clothing\, a windbreaker\, and lightweight gloves\, eye protection and hearing protection.
