DESCRIPTION:This is an ADVANCED SHOOTING CLASS. PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE DESCRIPTION.\nThis is a 5 - 6hr course consisting of interactive instruction followed by intense training/practice on the range. Please report to the IDPA pits at the rear of the club. Please do not drive to the pits unless authorized to do so by the staff.\nEmphasis will be on teaching shooters who are new to IDPA to navigate a course of fire safely and efficiently. Students will learn the terminology and range commands used in the sport of IDPA.\nThe following skills/techniques will be taught and then practiced under the supervision of experienced and currently certified IDPA Safety Officers:\nLoading and unloading the gun while on the line;\nDrawing from a holster and acquiring a target;\nProper clearing of the gun at the end of a course of fire;\nHolstering the gun; target transitions; engaging targets in tactical priority; slide-lock reloads; tactical reloads with retention;\nShooting on the move (forward\, backward\, laterally);\nShooting strong hand\, weak hand\, and freestyle;\nProper use of cover; muzzle control while competing; and scoring of targets.\nCertified IDPA Safety Officers teach the basics at the IDPA ranges. The students then proceed to the different pits where a team of certified SOs run students through a small match. Stages are designed to complement the classroom teaching\, and provide practical illustrations to many of the rules of IDPA.\nCost is $25 for non-Old Colony members. Old Colony members are free.\nClass is limited to 20 people. 4 squads of 5.\nMinimum caliber of gun .38/9mm or larger. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Central Carolina Gun Club\,Inc. LONG GONG. Long Gong is a 300 Yard Challenge for the .22LR rifle. The Targets are AR400 steel Gongs with a diameter of 8”\, 6”\, 4”. Scoring is 1 point for impacts on the 8”\, 2 points for the 6”\, and finally\, 3 points for the 4”. This match is shot off of a bench with a ten round limit for 5 sets. That’s 50 rounds per match. Bags & bipods only. There is a three MINUTE time limit per stage. Order of fire is 8” first and an IMPACT is required to move on to the next target\, than 6”\, last the 4”. If you miss a target you have to fall back to the last target impacted and continue from there. On the other hand if you hit a target you can choose to remain hitting said target you will be accumulating that targets point value.  Score will be totaled after each round with hight score being 27.  This is a Fun & Challenging game of precision for all ages and levels marksmanship. So come out and enjoy a little friendly competition while making some new life long friends. The 2 Gun match focuses on rifle with a sling\, but uses pistol with good retention for running. You will typically need up to 200 rounds of rifle and 75 rounds of pistol.  It may be more or less. Be prepared to shoot at targets anywhere from arms reach to 200 yards\, but most targets will be in close. Bi-Metal\, steel core and Armor Piercing Ammunition are PROHIBITED. If the projectile sticks to the magnet\, please do not shoot this ammo. You will be Disqualified and required to pay any replacement costs for damage caused. Any CENTER FIRE rifle or carbine and pistol is permitted. We will occasionally allow children or other very\, very new shooters to shoot rim fire. We’re currently holding these matches at the Saltwater Shooting Club.

There are no exceptions to this.\nIf you are not familiar with NRL22\, it is a great (and cheaper) way to experience precision rifle shooting.\nYou don't have to be a Member of NRL22 organization OR WBBSC to shoot the monthly matches\, but you do have to be a member of NRL22 if you want to be tracked by NRL22 and try to qualify for the NRL22 Nationals each year.\nThe monthly NRL22 Course of fire will be 5 stages (plus two additional stages). 80+ rounds of 22LR engaging steel targets from 25 to 100 yards. There is a good mix between prone\, barricade and positional stages. Steel targets sized from 1/4" to 6" depending on the stage description.\nFinal COF with the additional stages will be emailed out on Friday before the match.\nMatches are focused on skills development and casual competition in a relaxed atmosphere. It is a great opportunity to challenge your marksmanship skills from obstacles and barricades engaging targets as small as ¼ of an inch. Stages will have multiple steel targets ranging anywhere from 25 to 100 yards\, something you can’t shoot on most ranges. Each month is a different course of fire. DESCRIPTION:The ORGC - Rochester Personal Defense 3 Gun match will consist of 4 stages.\nSome stages are precision-driven and others may be more physically demanding.\nThe rules and procedures used will follow an IWI Multi-Gun rulebook.\nThis is a rifle-pistol\, rifle-PCC\, rifle-pistol-shotgun\, rifle-pistol- shotgun-PCC match.\nWeather does not impact the match schedule or start time\, unless when safety is of concern.  \nThe maximum shot distance is 100 yards.\nAn\, "A" zone hit or two hits anywhere on paper will neutralize the target.\nLong-distance steel hits will be called by the Range Officer.\nNo steel core ammo (tip must not attract a magnet).\nSteel core ammo = Automatic DQ.\nNo buckshot required.\nYou will need slugs.\nNo fixed magazine (break open to load) AR-15 rifles. (M1 Garands are OK)\nRifles & shotguns must have safety flags at all times.\nRifles & shotguns with a safety flags must have the muzzle pointing straight up or straight down at all times and the finger off the trigger.\nWARNING*** If you decide to film yourself or a friend during live fire stage shooting\, you may do so but it CANNOT be uploaded to social media or anyplace online. DESCRIPTION:Hillside Competitive Shooting is hosting a 1-gun PCSL match. For this match we're planning on 3 or 4 stages. Round count for this match should be less than 150\, depending on misses. This will be a modified 1-gun match. We will be following the PCSL rules. This is a level 1 match.\nIf a lot of rain is forecast for Roanoke\, pay attention to your email or the Hillside Competitive Shooting Facebook page for updates on the status of the match.\nMake sure you have ammo for the match before showing up. Day of the match competitors will register at the outdoor range at 4593 E. Station Rd\, and the electronic gate will be open.\nGo to pcsleague.us\, and under RULES click on GENERAL RULEBOOK\, and or PISTOL/PCC DIVISIONS AND SCORING to familiarize yourself with the rules. Especially if you are new to pcsl\, or competitive shooting in general.\nSAFETY AREAS:\nWe run a COLD range. Firearms must be unloaded at all times except during the match under the direct supervision of a Range Safety Officer (RO). HANDLING OF FIREARMS AT VEHICLES IS PROHIBITED. Pistols may be unbagged and holstered ONLY at designated Safety Areas or unbagged under the direction of a RO/SO at the shooting position. PCC's must be chamber in pistol calibers. PCC's must be flagged and preferably bagged at all times unless at a safe table or after receiving the "Make Ready" command.\nSafety Areas are clearly marked with signs.
