DESCRIPTION:A great way to make sure you're ready for the fall hunt.\nThe OSA Hunters Challenge is open to OSA members\, OSA affiliate members and guests.\nThe course of fire includes:\n- Standing (off-hand) at 25 meters - 5 shots\n- Standing (off-hand) at 50 meters - 5 shots\n- Moving targets (off-hand) at 50 meters - 5 shots\n- Sitting or kneeling at 75 meters - 5 shots\n- Supported positions at 100 meters - 5 shots\n- Standing supported at 150 meters - 5 shots\n- Prone at 200 meters - 5 shots\n- Prone at 300 meters - 5 shots\nYou can download the details from the OSA website (www.osacanada.ca) at the bottom of the Events page.\nPrizes include OSA medals and merchandise\, as well as your name on the Hunters Challenge trophy.\nYou'll need your deer hunting rifle. Your rifle must be zeroed\, ideally at either 100 meters or about 2" high at 100. Ammunition must be proven safe in your rifle; you'll need about 40-50 rounds (30 for the matches\, extra for zeroing\, re-shoots\, and tie shoots). You'll need a long-sleeved shirt\, slacks\, closed-toe shoes\, and a ballcap or brimmed hat. Also\, make sure you bring adequate food and fluid for the day\, as well as insect repellent and sunscreen. Working electronic hearing protection and safety glasses are mandatory.\n$75.00 for non-members. $25.00 off for OSA members and $25 off for OSA affiliate members. This is an outlaw style precision rifle match to challenge skills and fundamentals in hunting scenarios or PRS/NRL type matches. Shooters will be challenged with positional\, barricade\, and prone/modified prone shots. This is a points match with a timed tiebreaker stage. Round counts will be both limited and unlimited. This match is limited to .22 Long Rifle\, Long\, or Short only; no magnum or 17HMR calibers. .22 caliber air rifles are allowed in their own division provided they do not push projectiles with more energy on target than a .22lr (this is to protect the steel). Youth under 18 years old on match day shoot free with a paying adult. We try to incorporate choices of positions available to the shooter to accommodate physical restriction (example being prone off the ground or modified prone off a bench\, pick one). This is a beginner friendly match! Target sizes are generous\, stages are designed around challenging different skills. We want you to hit targets\, have fun and come back.\nBonus: 50 Yard Benchrest competition before the match. To kick off the match\, during the zeroing time we will have a 50yd benchrest competition on official USBR targets consisting of (3) confirmation/zero check targets and (25) shots for score. Everyone entering the PRS match will receive one target for signing up. Additional targets available for $5 each\, also available for walk on shooters just wanting to participate in benchrest.
