DESCRIPTION:Smallbore Silhouettes is a series of 60 shots standing unsupported at steel animal silhouettes using a 22 caliber rimfire rifle. Targets are chickens at 40m\, pigs at 60m\, turkeys at 77m rams at 100m\, and all targets are 5 mils so they are all the same angular dimensions at their respective ranges. Participants may compete in Standard Rifle (competition style rifles) and/or Hunting Rifle (typical 22 caliber rifle). DESCRIPTION:Click Here to Sign Up!\nIf you’ve been considering obtaining your Kentucky CCDW permit\, now’s the time! Classes are held in our conference room and our state-of-the-art indoor ranges. \nThe cost is $99.  The material covered is serious\, but the class is as entertaining\, fast-paced\, and enjoyable as possible.  Class starts promptly\, so be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes early! \nYou must pay online with your credit card to ensure your seat! \n  \nThese days a lot of people are asking “Why bother with a CCDW license when Kentucky has instituted ‘Constitutional Carry’?” \nThat’s a fair question\, but here’s a few points to consider… \n\nThe purpose of a class with a state-licensed and KSP-approved CCDW instructor is not only to teach you principles of marksmanship.  It informs you about laws regarding the possession of and employment of firearms in a self-defense situation as well as many other considerations.  This is critically important information.\nThere are also advantages when traveling to or through some states.  States offering reciprocity with regard to a concealed carry permit from another state are under no obligation to recognize other “constitutional carry” states in lieu of a permit.\nThe purchase of a firearm from a KY firearms dealer is generally streamlined by the possession of a valid KY CCDW license.\nPlease note that the Kentucky concealed-carry laws apply to all deadly weapons\, not just firearms\, and Kentucky clearly defines what constitutes a deadly weapon.  For example\, a blackjack\, sap\, or brass knuckles are considered deadly weapons\, but not a “hunting knife” per se.\n\n  \nWe conduct the our Kentucky Concealed Carry Deadly Weapons Course in accordance with guidelines and regulations as approved by the Kentucky State Police. \nClick link below for Eligibility and detailed information:  YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD and A RESIDENT OF KENTUCKY.  CHECK THE LINK BELOW FOR MORE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: \nhttp://kentuckystatepolice.org/ccdw/ccdw-home/qualifications/ \nWe typically offer the course on a Saturday or Sunday in one\, five to six-hour classroom session\, followed by written test and then live-fire range qualification\, however back-to-back weeknight sessions may be offered (you must attend both). \n\nFor the KY Concealed Carry Deadly Weapons Course\, you will need:\nGovernment-issued Photo ID\, such as a Kentucky Driver’s License–THIS WILL BE CHECKED!  You must be at least age 21 and a current Kentucky resident. \nHandgun — MUST BE UNLOADED and encased in a container\, bag\, or holster.\nMagazine (if applicable) — MUST BE UNLOADED \nAt Least 50 Rounds of FACTORY AMMUNITION (Hand-loads or Reloads are not authorized)\nAmmunition is available for purchase on site at Buds Gun Shop & Range\n\nFor questions email: range@budsgunshopky.com \nCourse Length: 5-6 hours classroom plus brief break for lunch\, then open-book written exam\, and live-fire range qualification.  Please consider bringing a light sweater or jacket as classroom temperature will be cool.  You must be on time for this class.  Check the start time and arrive at least 15 minutes prior to start of class.   Stair-access only to our 2nd-floor classroom. \nCourse Location: Buds Gun Shop and Range\, 1105 Industry Rd\, Lexington\, KY 40505. DESCRIPTION:Cost: $5 Members\, $10 Non-Members\nThis is a “Fun-Shoot”\, for .22LR pistols\, but\, we will allow .22 LR (magazine fed.) rifles.\nTypical Equipment: Ruger Mark I\, II\, III\, IV\, 22/45; Hi Standard and other similar semi-auto\npistols\, and .22 Cal. Revolvers. Red Dot or Iron Sights.\nRequired: Eye and hearing protection.\nObjective and course of fire: Clear the tables as quickly as possible. Range: 21 Ft.\n6- tables per shooter per set. (Typically 2-3 sets per night.) Up to 5-shooters on the line.\nThe longest time is thrown out\, and the remaining 5 times are averaged for your score.\nThe maximum time for a table is 15-seconds\, cleared or not.\nPins must be OFF the table\, but not necessarily on the floor to stop the clock.\nShooters start at a “Low Ready” position\, waiting for the start buzzer.\nNo magazine changes\, but you are allowed to clear jams.\nCheck out our Range Safety Video at https://ocsportsmensclub.com/ranges/ and watch to the end after the credits\, at about the 14:30 mark to see what this is all about.
