Whether you are looking to get into USPSA or Multigun\, this session will give you the opportunity to practice basic skills.\nYou will also develop skills to become an effective range officer (running the shot timer and the scoring pad). DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Galactic Pistol Alliance!\nSo\, what exactly is the Galactic Pistol Alliance?  Briefly\, it is an action shooting sport designed to be safe\, challenging\, fun\, interesting and easily underwood.\nGPA has been in development and evolving since December of 2022.  Since then\, we have run literally hundreds of GPA matches and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.  Here are a few features that make GPA such a blast!\n-No concealment garment required.\n-½ second scoring.\n-Every stage may have up to 24 required shots.  More shooting equals more fun!\n-Ammo management is entirely the responsibility of the shooter.\n-You can load your mags to capacity and carry as many as you want.\n-Every stage requires one mandatory reload after the first shot and before the last.  You decide when and where to\n do it.\n-You dropped a magazine with rounds in it?  It's legal! DESCRIPTION:This is PCC rifle match.  We also invite pistol shooters as well.  Stages will be a little longer distances. We set up at 11:00 AM and start at 1:00 PM.  Cash is best at the time of the match.  Checks are also ok.  There will be about 4 stages depending on pace of match and stage design.  We sometimes shoot low light stages so bring a weapon mounted tac flashlight. New shooters will need a safety briefing starting at about 12:15 PM. Please be on time. Bring 125 rounds of ammo.  We have rifle racks we will be using from now on.  these will be used in place of individual range bags so to  move match along faster.  You will need to clear rifle and flag rifle chamber before racking rifle.  MD will give more detailed  instructions at match time.

This is a cold range\, if you are carrying\, clear your side arm at the public range before you comeback to the competition range.  Registration ends at 9:15am\, shooting starts about 9:30am.  You will still need to register with staff at the stat shack.   If you are a new shooter\, please come early as we have to do a new shooter orientation that the Match Director needs to give.

SUMMARY:SGC 2026_10_18 Long Gong Salisbury Gun Club
DESCRIPTION:THE GAME- This is a 300 yd. shooting challenge using any rifles chambered in .22 LR only. The object is to\nShoot the highest score possible.\nTHE TARGET- The targets are AR400 1/8" thick rimfire gongs\, an 8”\, a 6”\, and a 4” gong. Each gong has a value\, 1 point for the 8”\, 2 points for the 6”\, and 3 points for the 4” gong.\nTHE SETUP- From a bench rest (limited to bipods and bags\, no sleds) each shooter\, with 10 rounds of ammunition begins by shooting for the 8” gong. The shooter has a 3-minute time limit to complete their round\, the clock starts with their first shot.\nTHE ORDER- If the shooter hits the 8”\, they score 1 point and now can choose to advance to the 6” gong or continue shooting for the 8” gong. If the shooter advances to the 6” gong and connects\, that hit is worth 2 points\, and they now can choose to shoot for the 4” gong\, worth 3 points.\nTHE RULES- The shooter must tell the scorekeeper when they switch gongs. A hit only counts if it’s a solid gong hit\, chain or hanger hits do not count. If the shooter misses\, they must go back one gong. If the shooter shoots the wrong gong\, it counts as a zero and the shooter must resume shooting on the correct gong.\nTHE SCORE- The score is totaled after each shooter\, with a possible high score of 27 points (1+2+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3=27). A complete game has every shooter fire 5 complete sets for a total of 50 rounds of ammunition (1 full box). The highest possible score for a competition is 135 points. In case of a tie score\, the winner is determined by the shooter with the highest single round score.\nTHE COMPETITORS- The order of the shooters in the first set is determined by drawing numbered chips\, and in each successive set the order of the shooters is determined by the scores\, with the lowest score shooting first. If two or more shooters have identical scores\, whoever shot the score initially will shoot first in the following round. (If Tom shoots an 11\, and then Dave also shoots an 11\, Tom will go before Dave in the following round.)\nTHE CHALLENGE- Hitting gongs at 300 yds. with a .22 LR is challenging. Hitting them repeatedly under changing conditions requires all the fundamentals used by the best long-distance shooters in the world.
