DESCRIPTION:NEW: Look for your ❗GATE CODE❗ in your Practiscore confirmation email.\nYou will need this code to enter the main gate at Dallas Pistol Club.\nCHECK-IN CLOSES AT 8:55 AM THE DAY OF MATCH WITH SHOOTERS MEETING AT 9:15 AM.\nMatch begins at 9.30 AM.\nThis match will typically have 4-5 stages (60-75 rounds required)\, primarily utilizing steel targets shot with birdshot. There may be one stage\, such as a "plate rack" that is primarily speed shooting oriented. Some matches will require a limited use of slug ammo (5 rounds or less). Slugs are always shot at/against cardboard targets for safety.   This is a "game" that will provide a challenge for all. Matches are held in the North Action Bays.\nWe require that you use LEAD SHOT (7.5 shot or smaller required). No steel or other "waterfowl" type shot will be permitted\, due to ricochet danger. We recommend that you bring about 100 rounds with you\, depending on your skill level. Some stages will require reloads. Stuffing ammo in a pants pocket will work\, but it is uncomfortable. Vests with loops or big pockets or belt/chest style ammo carriers are encouraged.\nMatch Fees\nAll matches are $20 for members and $30 for non-members. DESCRIPTION:Thanks to all those who helped with setting up stages and tearing them down after our last match.\nThis is a purely volunteer sport\, no one is paid to set up or design stages\, or to put away walls\, targets etc. Everyone pays the same amount of money for match fees\, including the match director. That is why we are able to only charge $10.00 per person to shoot S.A.P.S. matches and still cover expenses.\nIf you enjoy shooting our matches we would like to avoid burning out our helpers so please lend a hand. We understand that not everyone is able to lift walls or move steel but helping with stapling paper targets and tearing them down when we finish would be a great help.\nThat will allow us to get set up earlier\, we can begin shooting sooner and we can get off the range quicker.\nBefore heading to the bays\, you need to check-in at the office. $5 fee for members and $10 fee for non-members.

DESCRIPTION:We will start the day with the Ethical Hunter Challenge / Blackjack Challenge at 9:00 (will have both centerfire and rimfire courses ready to go!) followed by Long Gong starting around 10:00ish.\nStandard Cortina Precision rules for Ethical Hunter/Blackjack\nWELCOME TO LONG GONG!!\nTHE GAME-This is a 300yd shooting challenge using rifles chambered in 22lr only. The object is to shoot the highest score possible.\nTHE TARGET- The targets are AR400 3/16” thick rimfire gongs\, an 8”\, a 6”\, and a 4” gong. Each gong has a value\, 1 point for the 8”\, 2 points for the 6”\, and 3 points for the 4” gong.\nTHE SETUP- From a bench rest (limited to bipods and bags\, no sleds) each shooter\, with 10 rounds of ammunition begins by shooting for the 8” gong. The shooter has a 3-minute time limit to complete their round\, the clock starts with their first shot.\nTHE ORDER- If the shooter hits the 8”\, they score 1 point and now can choose to advance to the 6” gong or continue shooting for the 8” gong. If the shooter advances to the 6” gong and connects\, that hit is worth 2 points\, and they now can choose to shoot for the 4” gong.\nEXAMPLE-(Dave shoots and hits the 8” gong\, scoring 1 point. Dave says he’s going to shoot for the 6”\, he hits it scoring 2 more points. Dave says he’s going for the 4” gong\, shoots and misses scoring a zero\, and now must move back to the 6” gong. If Dave misses his shot on the 6”\, he will score another zero and be forced to move back to the 8” gong. If Dave hits the 6” he’ll score 2 points and again have the opportunity to shoot at the 4” gong.)\nTHE RULES-The shooter must tell the scorekeeper when they switch gongs. A hit only counts if it’s a solid gong hit\, chain hits do not count. If the shooter misses\, they must go back one gong. If the shooter shoots the wrong gong\, it counts as a zero and the shooter must resume shooting on the correct gong.\nTHE SCORE- The score is totaled after each shooter\, with a possible high score of 27 points\n(1+2+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3=27). A complete game has every shooter fire 5 complete sets for a total of 50 rounds of ammunition (1 full box). The highest possible score for a competition is 135 points. In case of a tie score\, the winner is determined by the shooter with the highest single round score.\nTHE COMPETITORS- The order of the shooters in the first set is determined by drawing numbered chips\, and in each successive set the order of the shooters is determined by the scores\, with the lowest score shooting first. If two or more shooters have identical scores\, whoever shot the score initially will shoot first in the following round. (If Tom shoots an 11\, and then Dave also shoots an 11\, Tom will go before Dave in the following round.)\nTHE CHALLENGE- Hiting gongs at 300yds with a 22lr is challenging. Hiting them repeatedly under changing conditions requires all the fundamentals used by the best long-distance shooters in the world.
