DESCRIPTION:Rimfire Rifle consists of 4 stages of fire.\nEach stage has 5 reactive targets at 25 yards. 4 regular targets and 1 stop plate target.\nShooters will shoot the 4 regular targets first and then the stop plate to stop the clock.\nEach stage consists of 5 strings of fire\, the best 4 of the 5 strings are used to calculate your score.\nShooters have 30 seconds to shoot the 5 targets. Any targets not hit before the stop plate incurs a penalty for each target. Each penalty adds 3 seconds to the shooters score.\nScoring is a combination of your time plus any penalties for missed targets.\nFastest time wins.\nThere are 3 divisions for Rimfire Rifle:\nLimited: ­ Iron sights only\nOpen: ­ Red dot sights and scopes are allowed\nBolt: Bolt action or lever action no restriction on sights\nEquipment needed: 22 rimfire rifle with at least 5 magazines.\nAmmunition – Bring along at least 150 rounds. 100+ for the match and some extras for “do overs” or malfunctions.\nEye and ear protection is required at all times.\nAt this time we are unable to take Credit/Debit Cards\, Registration fee is Cash Only.

DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Thurmont Wednesday Steel Challenge Match.\nMATCH DESCRIPTION:\nThis match will consist of 8 Official Steel Challenge stages.\nRound count will be approximately 195+. Bring extra ammo\, as it there is none available for purchase at the facility.\nRULES:\nThis is a Tier 1 local Steel Challenge match and we will abide by the rules of Steel Challenge Shooting Association.\nAll SCSA divisions as well as LO\, RRI\, and RRO are included.  So let's see those Wheel Guns.\nThough you may register in multiple divisions\, you may only register once in any individual division.\nSCORING:\nWe will use the normal Steel Challenge Scoring.\nSAFETY AREAS:\nThurmont is a COLD range. Firearms must be unloaded at all times except during the match under the direct supervision of a Range Safety Officer (RO). HANDLING OF FIREARMS AT VEHICLES IS PROHIBITED. Long guns must have an EMPTY CHAMBER INDICATOR (Chamber Flag) IN PLACE at all times starting from the moment the rifle is uncased for placement in a gun cart or brought to the shooting position. Pistols may be unbagged and holstered ONLY at designated Safety Areas or unbagged under the direction of a RO/SO at the shooting position.\nSafety Areas are clearly marked with signs.  If the table doesn't have a sign marked "Safety Area" then it isn't one and Gun Handling is not allowed there but ammunition handling is.\nNO AMMUNITION HANDLING in safety areas. Note that cinder block and plywood walls ARE NOT safety areas. Use of suppressors is not prohibited but the match director can not assure accurate times.\nAll pistol calibers permitted. I.e.\, 9mm\, 38super\, .40S&W\, 45ACP\, .38 Special\, 44 Special\, 45LC\, .and 22lr rimfire. As per SCSA rules the maximum velocity for any Handgun or Pistol Caliber Carbine shooting steel is 1600fps. It usually consists of 3 stages depending on crowd size. Check-in is 5:30-6:15. Shooters meeting at 6:15\, Bullets downrange by 6:30 or after the match brief.\nCost: $15.75\nPCCs will be allowed this match but must have a chamber flag and be in a case.\nSign up on Practiscore.com by searching for "Sharpshooters" for the latest match opening. There will be 2 squads to sign up on\, but you may be moved to balance them out before the match starts.\nAs a new shooter\, you don't have to be an IDPA member to shoot a match\, but after 3 matches\, you will need to join IDPA to continue to participate. Click here to join: https://www.idpa.com/membership/.\nThe minimum equipment is eye and ear protection\, an IDPA-compliant firearm\, a secure holster\, mag pouch(s)\, and an outer garment that will cover them with your arms outstretched. This match is especially good for permanently disabled persons\, as it is on a smooth-level concrete floor\, and other accommodations are made for you. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Galactic Pistol Alliance!\nSo\, what exactly is the Galactic Pistol Alliance?  Briefly\, it is an action shooting sport designed to be safe\, challenging\, fun\, interesting and easily underwood.\nGPA has been in development and evolving since December of 2022.  Since then\, we have run literally hundreds of GPA matches and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.  Here are a few features that make GPA such a blast!\n-No concealment garment required.\n-½ second scoring.\n-Every stage may have up to 24 required shots.  More shooting equals more fun!\n-Ammo management is entirely the responsibility of the shooter.\n-You can load your mags to capacity and carry as many as you want.\n-Every stage requires one mandatory reload after the first shot and before the last.  You decide when and where to\n do it.\n-You dropped a magazine with rounds in it?  It's legal!  No PE!\n-Targets may be required to be shot while you are moving.\n-Any stage can have an unlimited number of steel targets as well as unlimited non-threats!\n-With few exceptions\, whatever equipment you are using in another pistol sport is probably legal in GPA.\n-The rulebook is clear\, concise\, unambiguous and only 12 pages long!\nSHOOTERS MUST HAVE\n- Their own firearm\n- Eye and Ear protection\n- Minimum of 100 rounds of ammo\n- Waiver on file\nSHOOTERS SHOULD HAVE\nA quality IWB/OWB hard holster for their firearm (NO Serpa.)\nA minimum of two magazines or speed loaders (for revolvers) and pouches for them\nNo soft (leather/nylon) holsters will be allowed for safety reasons\, however those without a holster (or acceptable holster) may run each stage off of a designated table or starting point.\n(NOTE: ALL SIG 320 VARIANTS ARE PROHIBITED FROM THESE EVENTS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE)
